TECHNICAL DRAFTING
OBJECTIVES
1. Identify the different Personal Entrepreneurial
Competencies relevant to Technical Drafting.
2. Align one’s PECs according to his/her business or
career choice.
3. Create a plan of action that ensures success in your
business or career choice.
ENTREPRENEURS
• A person who organizes, develop, operates and engages in
his/her own business
• They are people with skills and capabilities to see and evaluate
opportunities.
• Individuals that can strategically identify products or services
needed by the community and they have the capacity to deliver
these at the right time at the right place.
• Are agent of economic change, they organize, manage and
assume risks of business.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP
• It is a strategic process of innovation and new venture creation. It
is both art and science of converting business ideas into
marketable products or services to improve quality of living.
• It is the process of developing, organizing, and running a new
business to generate profit while taking on financial risk.
PERSONAL ENTREPRENEURIAL COMPETENCIES (PECs)

• refers to the important characteristics that should possessed by


an individual in order to perform entrepreneurial functions
effectively.
• the qualities, characteristics, skills, abilities, knowledge and
behavior that a person must posses to become a successful
entrepreneur.
OPPORTUNITY SEEKER

• Seizing unusual opportunities to start a new business


• Acting and grabbing new business opportunities even in the most
problematic and hopeless situations.
• Sees even the most negative situations as a good opportunity.

PERSISTENCE
• Doing something continuously even though others say that you
will not succeed or that you are just wasting your time and effort.
• Doing something over and over again until you get what you
think you deserve.
• Standing up straight and not giving up even during the hardest
times when you are trying to do something new or something
difficult.

• Taking full responsibility and having the job done efficiently to


create a delighted customer.

• An entrepreneur enters the world of business to generate profit
or additional income. The business shall become your bread and
butter. Therefore, you must see to it that the business can

• Planning involves strategic thinking and goal setting to achieve


objectives by carefully maximizing all the available resources. A
good entrepreneur develops and follows the steps in the plans
diligently to realize goals. A good entrepreneur knows that
planning is an effective skill only when combined with action.

POSSESSES PEOPLE SKILLS


• This is a very important skill needed to be successful in any kind of
business. People skills refer to effective and efficient
communication and establishing good relationship to the people
working in and out of your business. In day-to-day business
transactions, you need to deal with people. A well-developed
interpersonal skill can make a huge difference between success
and failure of the business.

Listed below are the important skills of a successful entrepreneur:

SOUND DECISION MAKER

• Successful entrepreneurs have the ability to think quickly and to


make wise decisions towards a pre-determined set of objectives.
No one can deny that the ability to make wise decisions is an
important skill that an entrepreneur should possess. Sound
decisions should be based on given facts and information and lead
towards the pre-determined objectives.

Directions: Using the PECs Checklist, assess yourself by indicating a check (/) mark in either
you have or possess it or you are working on it.

1.Why is it important to assess one‘s PECs before engaging in a
particular entrepreneurial activity or starting a particular
business?

2.What are the desirable personal characteristics, attributes,


lifestyles, skills, and traits of a prospective entrepreneur? Why are
these important?
ACTIVITY NO. 3 PECs TALENTS
1. The class will be divided into four groups, according to their interests (students who love
to act, sing, write and draw).

2. Each group will be given a specific task according to their talent or skill

3. Group 1 (Acting Challenge): The learners will show being hardworking and possessing
self-confidence through performing creative drama

4. Group 2 (Singing): The learners will compose or adapt a song about the importance of
commitment and self-discipline in becoming successful in business or career.

5. Group 3 (Drawing Challenge): The learners in this group will draw a poster showing the
impact of creativity and initiative in the success of business or career.

6. Group 4 (Writing Challenge): The learners will write a short poem about dreaming for a
brighter future through having a successful business or career.
ACTIVITY NO. 4 PREPARATION OF A PLAN OF ACTION
Directions: Prepare an action plan that indicates alignment of your PECs to the PECs of a successful entrepreneur that
you have interviewed. Use a separate sheet if necessary.
