DETAILED LESSON PLAN


In English 6

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of 60 minutes, 100% of the students will achieve 80% mastery of skills by the following:

1.) Identify : Declarative and Interrogative sentence.


2.) Familiarize the punctuation marks used in each sentences.
3.) To demonstrate their ability to write declarative, interrogative sentences.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

b. Referrence: DepEd (2016) K to 12 Curriculum Guide in English (Grade 1 to 10) pp.29

For you and me, Language Textbook Grade Six, Eloide A. Cada

 To show case the value of the right sentence with proper.

This question can help Learners to remember the Experience on their vacations.

Learners will listen to the teacher's discussion and learn.

The learners will apply their critical thinking in the activity given.

This strategy, learners will develop their critical thinking skills by reading the next topic.

This strategy, learners will develop their cognitive skills by choosing the right answer.

III. PROCEDURE

A. Pre-developmental Activity
1.1 Greetings

1.3 Checking of Attendance

Is there any absent from the class? None Ma’am

Okay very good class, no one is absent today.

2. Review (How is it?)

Before we jump to our proper discussion.


I believe that you spend long time in your vacation,
and I have a question for you class.
How was your vacation experience? Let’s start
with you ms. Sophia. It was great Ma’am.

Did you went on a trip or you just stayed at home?

Wow what a wonderful family bonding. Ma’am we went to our lola’s house in province.

However, I have another questions.


If you going to describe your vacation experience
in one sentence what would it be, Ms. joy? Ma’am, another memory to be pressured.

How about you Mr. mark? Ma’am, it’s boring I just stayed at home.

So some of you sharing that they have a wonderful


vacation experience, while other share that they
stayed at home and it’s boring.

However class we shouldn’t forget that “ every day


is the day to celebrate. You know why? Because
we already surprassed the challenges of yesterday
and here we are we are breathing and continuing
the opportunity of today of course giving the Students: Amen!
almighty God. Amen?

3. Motivation (Find the word)

Okay, I have here an activity and I am sure it will


energize your vision and your mind. So the title of
this activity is a crossword puzzle. Students: Ma’am
So you know what cross word puzzle is?

So let’s begin get a ¼ sheet of paper and write the Students: Yes Ma’am
words that you see that presented later. Is that clear
to everyone?

So this is the Crossword puzzle

You are given 5 minutes to complete this task, you


may begin….

Alright I hope everyone is finish can somebody


share their answers that they found words in our
cross word puzzle? Statement, period, question, punctuation.

We have statement, period, question punctuation,


declarative and interrogative.

today is all about kind of sentences. Namely the
declarative and interrogative sentences.

B. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation of the Lesson:
But before that give me the opportunity to
introduce you the Learning objectives that you
should be able to:
First, students should be able to identify the
declarative and interrogative
Second, you should be able to Familiarize the
punctuation marks used in each types of sentence.
And Lastly, To demonstrate their ability to write
declarative, interrogative sentences.

Okay let’s proceed.
So there are kinds of sentence it can be Declarative
and interrogative.
Before we explain the definitions or the meaning of
these functions, I have here two different sentences
and read these sentence with emotions and after
you will going to answer what kind of sentence it
is.
Let’s start with you student 1: Student 1 : ( reading the sentence )
( Ana goes to school ) Ma’am Declarative.

Student 2 : read the second sentence.


( Why are you crying ?) Student 2 : ( Reading )
Ma’am it is interrogative.

Lets see class if your answer is correct.


But I want to ask you some question.
What is your observation or what have you notice Ma’am I have notice that each sentences uses
and why did you came up with your answers? punctuation mark.
Lets start with you miss Joy.

Definitely your alright.


Sentences start with capital letters and it ends with
the punctuation mark.

2. Lesson Proper (Listen and Learn!)


So let’s start with :
1. Declarative Sentence
- A declarative sentence is a sentence that
makes a statement or tells something and
gives us information about the person,
thing, animals and etc. And It ends with a
period (.)
For example:
“ Chef rose bakes cookies. “
So it tells something that rose is a chef and she
bakes cookies. Yes Ma’am
Is it clear now what is Declarative sentence is?

Okay, going back to the example I presented


earlier. Your classmate answers declarative Yes Ma’am, because the sentence tell us
sentence do you think that his answer is correct? something about Ana that she goes to school and
it gives information.

Very well said, this is the example of declarative


sentence.
Now class who could give me an example or own
example of declarative sentence?

Now let’s proceed to the second type of sentence
which is The : Yes Ma’am.
2. Interrogative Sentence
- An interrogative sentence is a sentence that
asks a question or ask something. And it
ends with a question mark (?).

Going back again to the example earlier, (Why


are you crying?) your classmates answer
Interrogative sentence do you think her answer
is correct? Why? Yes Ma’am because it is like the sentence is
asking someone why is he/she crying and it ends
with the question mark.

Very good class, now who can give me another


example of interrogative sentence, yes Ms. Sara: Do you think I passed the exam?
Sara?

Very good. It seems that you really understand


what interrogative sentence is because you can
easily give examples.

And it seems that you already learn about these


kind of sentences. For now find a partner.

3. Application (Apply it)


Does anyone have a partner? Yes Ma’am!

In this activity, think a scene and make a


conversation with your partner. And after that
Identify what you’ve discussed if it is Declarative
or interrogative sentence.

For example:
In a household chores, washing the dishes.
you will going to ask your partner who washes the
dishes, and your partner will answer the question.
Is that clear?
I will give you 10minutes to complete the task.

I believe that everyone is finish so are you ready to


present your activity?

about our lesson for today.
4. Generalization (Let us recall!)
Now Let’s recall your understanding. Since Ma’am, declarative sentences are sentence that

Bring out your paper and pencil and answer the
following.

2. Is your father an engineer? Okay ma’am.
3. My sister is a wealthy woman.
4. Do you have a new book?
5. That was a physical game.
