prevention, diagnosis, alleviation, treatment or cure of disease
in human or animals.

Classification of
Dangerous Drugs
Prohibited drugs
Drugs that produce psychological effects of narcotics or
those that relieve pain and induce sleep.

Example: Cocaine, LSD, Marijuana, Opium and its


derivatives, etc.
Regulated drugs
Drugs which incudes self-inducing sedatives and other
hypnotic drugs or compounds producing the same
physiological effects.

Example: barbiturates, tranquilizers and alcohol

Depressants
✔ Commonly known as “Downers”
✔ Create feelings of relaxation and tiredness
✔ Produces euphoria

Examples: Alcohol, Opiates, Barbiturates


Stimulants
✔ Commonly known as “Uppers”
✔ Increases energy, concentration and wakefulness
✔ Produces excited high of pleasure

Examples: Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Ecstasy


Hallucinogens
✔ Commonly known as “Tripping”
✔ Alters the user’s perception of reality, time and
space

Examples: Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD),


Marijuana, Hashish
Inhalants
✔ Commonly found in household items
✔ Less addictive but incredibly dangerous
✔ Produce high feelings

Examples: Paint thinner, Nail polish remover and

• Devote yourself to your studies and other productive
activities at home or in school
• Stay away from people, places and events that
promote drug use
• Learn to manage feelings and cope with stress
without using drugs

• Develop a strong moral and spiritual foundation
• Educate yourself about the effects of drug abuse
• Always say NO
