Script for Concept Paper

Valerie: Good day everyone! We are the AIM group, Aspirants of Improvement
for Modern Education System and we are here to propose a project that can
improve the quality of education in General De Jesus College.

Valerie: Our proposed project is entitled Student Evaluation: Identifying JHS

GJCians Patterns of Strengths and Needs through Different Fun Activities. But
before we start discussing our project proposal, let us first introduce ourselves to
you.

Valerie: Hello! I am Valerie Cristine Y. Ramos, one of the representative of

Aspirants of Improvement for Modern Education System (AIM). I am one of the
researchers and editors in our team.

Donna: My name is Donna Santos, one of the representative of Aspirants of

Improvement for Modern Education System (AIM). I am one the researchers and
editors in our team.

Althea: I am Althea Ablaza, one of the representative of Aspirants of

Improvement for Modern Education System (AIM). I am one of the researchers in
our group.

Lenard: My name is John Lenard Dilao, one of the representative of Aspirants of

Improvement for Modern Education System (AIM). I am one of the researchers in
our group.

Andrei: name is Andrei Elipane, one of the representative of Aspirants of

Improvement for Modern Education System (AIM). I am one of the researchers in
our group.

Introduction
Valerie: We all know that General de jesus college is known for having a good
quality of education for years and has been proud of having graduates who have
reached their goal. To continue having the legacy, our team named Aspirants of
Improvement for Modern Education System or known as AIM is a team who
wants to help in improving the quality of education in General de Jesus College.
We would like to propose a program consisting of fun activities that will assist the
students in improving their reading comprehension skills, communication skills,
and leadership skills

Purpose
Althea: According to Rombot et al. (2020), in 21st-century students’ literacy skills
are in demand and scholars will agree that reading skills is the key to successful
education and profession. It was reported that an average of Filipino and English
fluency from 2013 and 2019 was decreasing. One observation of the proponents
is the outrageous number of Filipinos commenting online not having enough
reading comprehension that causes misunderstanding or argument with the two
parties (Cummiskey et al., 2019). During 2019, a Programme for International
Student Assessment (PISA) conducted a test among seventy-nine (79) countries;
Philippines scored the lowest in reading comprehension (Rimando, 2021).

Althea: Just like what I have read earlier, Philippines scored the lowest in reading
comprehension among many countries, through having our proposed program,
students can improve their reading comprehension skills and communication
skills.

Lenard: Kapur (2019) explains that the development of leadership skills among
students is an integral part of education. These skills enables the individuals to
acquire self-autonomy and they are less likely to be dependent on others for the
implementation of various task and activities. Through the development of
leadership skills, the individuals are able to generate awareness in terms of
direction, how to put into practice the procedures to carry out various activities.

Lenard: Leadership, as Kapur stated, is an important aspect of education.

Students will have the opportunity to build or become more informed of their
leadership skills by completing our proposed program.

Andrei: Through this proposed program, Student Evaluation: Identifying JHS

GJCians’ patterns of strengths and needs through different activities, which has
the purpose to assist the students' reading comprehension skills at the same time
build their communication skills and leadership skills, students are able to
improve these skills that they can use in their future. In line with this, this
program helps students get the quality education they need and helps the school
to determine what works well in students and what should they do to improve
their education system. And in the near future, the students can use what they
have learned in this proposed program when they are working already. And of
course, through having this kind of program, students can build their confidence
because it can help them improve their skills.

Project Description

Donna: Student Evaluation: Identifying JHS GJCians’ patterns of strengths and

needs through different fun activities will be exclusive for the Junior High School
students from General de Jesus College only. The evaluation will be held before
