Discussion & Conclusion Group4
For polynomial with value n=1 it will produce a straight line and for polynomial with
value n=2 it will produce parabola. Besides, if the order of the polynomial is less than the
number of points produced, it will pass through all of them. Note that a polynomial that’s pass
through all the points or polynomial of higher order, it cannot always a superior fit and it was
very critical point. Besides, the points for high order polynomial can be different dramatically.
Therefore, even though task 1 and task 2 used different value of degree of polynomial it
still produced the same pattern of graph. It is because, from result task 1 and task 2 it shows the
same value of standard error of estimate and coefficient of determinations.
CONCLUSION
This assignment's main goal was to use Matlab programming software to carry out linear
least square regression with data provided, build a programming for solving processes, plot the
best fit graph of experimental data, and find standard error of estimate and coefficient of
determination. In summation, we achieved all these objectives.
Using Matlab is a breeze since it's so user-friendly. The implementation and testing of
algorithms are a good illustration of this. Computational codes are easy to write. It's simple to
debug. Use a large collection of pre-installed algorithms. It's easy to edit still images and create
ad hoc simulation videos. Symbolic computing is a breeze to implement. External libraries may
be accessed with a single click.
It would be great if students could get maximum use out of Matlab if they could get it for
free. As a result of Matlab’s worldwide usage, we must study and master it.
