Submission format and Instructions:

This assignment (Assessment 2 of 2) covers Learning Outcomes 3&4 (LO3, LO4).


 This is an individual assignment.
 The submission format is in the form of a case study written report.
 The assignment should have a cover page that includes the assignment code, number, title,
assessors’ names and student’s name and ID. Attach all the pages of assignment
brief/achievement summary with your report and leave them blank for official use.
 Ensure that authenticity declaration has been signed.
 This is an individual assignment.
 Content sheet with a list of all headings and page numbers.
 Plagiarism is unacceptable. Students must cite all sources and input the information by
paraphrasing, summarizing or using direct quotes. A Referral Grade is given when Plagiarism is
identified in your work. There are no exceptions.
 Your evidence/findings must be cited using Harvard Referencing Style. Please refer to
Reference guiding posted on Moodle.
 This assignment should be written in a concise, formal business style using Arial 11 or Times
New Roman 13 font size and 1.5 spacing.
 The word limit is 4,500 words (+/- 10%). If you exceed the word limit (excluding references and
administrative sections) your grade will be penalised.

 Exhibits / appendices of financial reports and regulations should be attached; they are outside the
limited words.
 The assignment should contain in-text reference and a list of any references used in the report.
 To Pass Assignment 1, you must achieve ALL the Pass Criteria outlined in the marking sheet.
 You must submit both of hardcopy and softcopy of your assignment before the deadline. Late
assignments will not be accepted. The softcopy must be submitted to Turnitin via Moodle
and the hardcopy must be submitted to the Assignment box at room No. 404A – Building
D2.

Assignment Brief and Guidance:

Vietnam has been quite successful in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows since the
inception of economic reform in 1986 and the inflow of FDI has contributed significantly to the
economic development of Vietnam. A new wave of FDI driven by global uncertainty such as the US-
China trade war and the COVID-19 pandemic is imminent in Vietnam, and it will have a significant
impact on the economy.

Your assignment is to select a company and write about the two tasks below:

1. Write a report to evaluate how operating in a global market influences an organization's structure,
culture and functions.
 How does the global market influence organizations in the context of McKinsey 7S model of
organizational structure?
 Using Hofstede's Dimensions of Culture demonstrate how national cultural differences have an
influence upon organizations.
 The governance of a multi-national organisation and leadership within an international context.
 Evaluate the influence of ethical and sustainable globalization impacting organizations.
 Critically evaluate global market influences in application to appropriate theories and models
relating to organisational structure and culture.
2. Write a report to evaluate the influence of globalization on organizational decision-making and
strategy.
 International expansion strategies and strategic decision-making in relation to risk and
diversification.
 The impact of barriers to international trade upon decision-making and strategy.
 Critically evaluate the key barriers in doing business internationally and make recommendations
on how they can be overcome.
 Critique strategies that can be adopted by organizations operating in a global business
environment, making valid and justified recommendations of how they should adapt their
organizational structure and decision-making processes.
