to launch a specific action
○ into multibeam system or multibeam software
PPS on
pin 9
1PPS
● A multiple (1 to 60) or submultiple (0.1 to 1
in 0.1-second increments)
● Offset in case external device latency is
possible:
○ Amount of time in seconds before (+?)
or after (-?)
Internet and Ethernet Connections
Wi-Fi TCP/IP Connection
● Power on the Wi-Fi module in MPS865 by navigating to its section, highlight
ON and press OK button
Hot-Spot Client
Wi-Fi TCP/IP Connection
● Wi-Fi Device as Hot-Spot (Access Point)
○ Setup MPS865 Wi-Fi module as the Access Point
○ Use Laptop, Mobile Phone or Tablet to access MPS865 Hot-Spot
Hot-Spot ■ SSID will be ‘MPS865_xxxx’ last 4 digits of SN
■ default IP 192.168.142.1
■ password abcdeabcde
○ Use the IP of the MPS865 in a web browser to access the
receiver’s web interface
Client
Wi-Fi TCP/IP Connection
● Wi-Fi Device as Client
● Typical use case:
○ The MPS865 is operated in a location where only a local Wi-Fi
Client network is available
○ Web Server used from a remote location

Ethernet TCP/IP Connection
● Ethernet cable RJ45 connector
● Consult the IP specialist with the following:
○ MPS865 does not have embedded firewall
○ TCP/IP port #80 is used by default in the receiver
○ DHCP Client, Server or Static IP mode is possible
● Two possible cases:
○ TCP/IP connection within a private network
○ TCP/IP connection with Internet Access
Ethernet TCP/IP Connection
● DYNDNS services
○ Can be used if MPS865 has no assigned static public IP address
○ DYNDNS allows you to assign fixed host name (URL) to the IP
enabled device
○ When IP is changed, the new IP is automatically re-assigned to
the host name of the device
○ Multiple providers available on the Internet eg.
https://dyn.com/dns/
○ Paste host name into a browser to access web UI
Ethernet Setup
● Power on the Ethernet module by navigating to its section, highlight ON and press
OK button
○ This will take a few seconds to power on the Ethernet module
Ethernet Icon
TCP/IP Connection – LAN
● In this use case, the receiver and the computer are
connected to the same local area network (LAN)
● The valid receiver IP address is the one read in the lower
line on the Ethernet display screen
TCP/IP Connection – Public Internet
● In this use case, the receiver and the computer are
connected to different LANs
● The valid receiver IP address is NOT the one read in the
lower line on the Ethernet display screen
● IT manager should provide the IP and Port on which public
access to the receiver can be granted or use DynDNS
Web User Interface
Web User Interface – General
● To launch the web UI for the first time:
○ Start the web browser and type the IP
address (or the host name) of the MPS865
○ Login to Administrator panel:

Repeater Setup – Other Protocols
● Receiver > Internal Radio
○ Setup is the same, but user would program the
Repeater delay function
○ For this kind of setup, it is recommended to setup Tx
frequency and Rx frequency of the internal radio to
different values
■ Use Trimble Installation Manager to load those
■ or use TDLCONF software
Internal Radio
● Notice to Trimble Partners:
○ To set 450 MHz receive/transmit frequencies when not using Virtual Warehouse, Marine dealers
may get issued a USB key so that TDLCONFIG can be used in Dealer mode.
○ If you sell TDL450’s then you would have this key already. Otherwise email

eliminate the interference in between Base ● No interference between the corrections
and Rover 1 transmissions broadcast from the Base and Rover 1
Rebroadcasting (RTK Bridge)
● Rover 1 receives corrections from a VRS or IBSS
source via internal cellular modem
● Rover 1 broadcasts those corrections on 450 MHz to Rover 1

accessing the Web User Interface
1. Disabled
1. Enabled
Startup Protection
● User prompted for password when switching on MPS865
● Prevents unauthorized use of receiver
● Use Web Server or Front Panel to unlock the receiver
Anti-Theft
Protects your MPS865 when it is left operating unattended by rendering the receiver useless without a
password.
● At the time the anti-theft is enabled, the computed position is saved in memory and an Email/SMS
containing the Anti-Theft password is sent to the anti-theft contacts (must be in static base mode)
● If the receiver computes a position farther than 100m (default setting) a theft condition is detected
● Anti-Theft range can be modified with $PASHS commands
● Having an active Data and Voice SIM card will allow you to receive alerts
from your receiver.
Anti-Theft Alarm
● Buzzer emits an alarm
● Alarm message displayed on front panel
● All output messages are stopped From: Trimble.MPS865@gmail.com
● MPS865 configuration cannot be changed (input Subject: MPS865 ANTI-THEFT ALERT
commands are rejected) MPS865 receiver S/N: 5345900013
● Emails are sent every 1 minute to the contacts indicated in 23/01/2014 14:01:01 GMT
the anti-theft menu (requires SIM card)
● Emails contain last computed position of the base to track Current position:
47 17'57.88"N
its current location (requires SIM card) 001 30'33.25"W
● If the batteries are removed before the thief takes the
receiver, next time the receiver will be powered on, the
theft alarm will be set and the receiver will stay completely
unusable
Anti-Theft - Password Reset
● Anti-theft password lost:
○ Contact Trimble Support who will provide a receiver specific password computed with the
MPS865 serial number
○ Proof of ownership will be required
○ Use the USB OTG cable + USB drive + USB script file to unlock the receiver
○ Script file:
■ Create a text file: uploadconfig.cmd or autoconfig.cmd with the $PASHS,xxx command
delivered from the technical support
○ Set this file in the root of the USB drive
○ Power on the receiver when USB drive is connected
Anti-Theft Activation
● Receiver > Security > Anti-Theft
● Configure Emails and Phone Numbers to send anti-theft
alerts
● Setup the Anti-Theft password
● Test button will send a test message or email and display
the Anti-Theft message on the Front Panel
Anti-Theft Emails Notification
● Receiver > I/Os > Email Notifications
● Enter the Email parameters including the SMTP server to
enable MPS865 to send emails
● Use the table inside the Web UI to insert the email
addresses of the recipient list
Other Email Notifications
● Email Alerts
○ Receive any alarm raised by the receiver (base) via SMS or e-mail
Example: Low battery, Low voltage, Connection lost, Memory full…
○ Send commands to the receiver
○ Monitor receiver status and control it
● 2 alarm categories:
