Mariya Petrova:
Students live all over Nottingham, in some cases choosing to live close to their
institution and in other cases choosing the location of the property for its
amenities and favourable location rather than its proximity to their place of
study. Although recent research has shown that students are moving closer to
the city centre there are other areas which should be explored as they offer a
host of local amenities and are very student friendly. Lenton and Dunkirk
remain the most popular areas for University of Nottingham students, whilst
the city centre and the Arboretum sees the greatest density of Nottingham
Trent University students.
Relax with friends in halls, catch a play, check out the Farmers' Market or get
involved in sports clubs and societies – there's plenty to entertain you on
campus.
The Students' Union is the hub of student social life on campus. You can get
involved with a wide range of activities including:
• societies
• sports clubs
• volunteering projects
• events such as pub quizzes, live music, club nights, speed dating and
comedy nights ─ in venues both on and off campus
Set in extensive greenery and around a lake, University Park is the focus of life
for students, staff and visitors. Conveniently located only two miles from the
city centre, the campus contains:
o period buildings
o modern state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities
o sports facilities
