I. Business Requirements
1. Background
Avid readers know that there’s nothing like curling up with
a good book. The weight of its pages, the library smell, and
the anticipation of being transported into another world.
Have you ever imagined a life where you could be
surrounded by books every day, delivering your joy of
reading to the masses?

Opening a bookstore in the age of Amazon and massive

retail chains might seem like an impossible feat. But
despite the perception that independent booksellers are
diminishing in the shadow of these giants, there’s still
plenty of room to make it in the world of books
2. Business Opportunity
Clever book business founders who discovered a gap in the
market, a unique value proposition, or a way to
create personalized customer experiences have found
success—even during a pandemic. Niche bookstores offer
something that massive retailers could never replicate—and
customers are even willing to pay more for the same book
because of the personal touch.

Turn your hobby into a business by launching your own

bookstore and selling books online. Or, circumvent
publishers to transform your manuscript into a real book to
sell directly to your fans. With books being such a wide-
ranging product, there are infinite ways to differentiate
yourself.

3. Business Objectives and Success Criteria

Differentiate your brand. Work on having a solid brand
story, mission, and set of clear values that attract customers
looking to support businesses that care about the same
things. Consumer trends during the pandemic saw a shift in
favor of brands with a social mission.
Be hyper focused. A booksto/*re that offers everything for
everyone often lacks depth on one particular genre or
theme. By sourcing rare and independent titles and staying
in your lane, you can build customer loyalty.
Offer a curated experience. For online businesses this
may include niche book collections that go beyond genre,
quizzes, or tools to help recommend books based on
interests, or 1:1 virtual shopping consultations. Physical
bookstores can offer a warm experience with community-
focused spaces and events.
Focus on customer service and relationships. Small
businesses benefit from having a small pool of loyal
customers with whom they can build relationships. Offer
loyalty perks like exclusive events and invest care in a
customer service strategy.
Build community. Connect with your biggest fans by
building online communities, running in-store events, and
hosting virtual book clubs.
4. Customer or Market Needs
Competing with large book chains means finding a specific
corner of the book world to invest your energy. Narrow in
on a book genre, sell vintage and rare books, or offer a
unique customer experience.
Identify popular genres of books that people read.
5. Business Risks
-Competing with massive booksellers.
- Hard to attract people.
- Needs time to developing your book brand.

II. Vision of the Solution

1. Vision Statement
1.1. Online book business is a potential market
Many people are often afraid of selling books because they
think that customers will now only go to big, familiar and
reputable places.
However, if the book business is like the coffee business –
an equally fierce market, then we will have a different
answer.
Many big players in the industry like Trung Nguyen, The
Coffee House are dominating the market, but not so that
small cafes with their own qualities lose loyal customers.
Will the big book business (FAHASA, TIKI...) meet the
needs of readers' books?
The answer is never, because human needs never end.
According to a survey of Nielsen online: Vietnamese
people buy books online the 4th most in the world. This is a
potential market with diverse needs from readers that have
never been fully met.
As a book enthusiast, it is easy for you to recognize a need
and discover a market that no one else has explored.
In addition, selling books online also helps you save a lot of
money on rental costs, staff... With an investment of only 0
VND, you can completely start making profits from books.
Today, it's easy to deliver books directly to readers thanks
to the explosion of e-commerce platforms and professional
delivery services.

1.2. Identify markets and customer groups

The important thing you need to do is find yourself a wide
enough market. When starting out with limited resources,
you can't go into "everything" but should go into the depth
of the category.
Answer the question:

- Who are your customers? Your customer portrait?

- What do they care about?
- What's so special about your business idea?
Take for example the student customer group. They want
access to cheap foreign language books. They usually don't
ask for high quality books, just enough reading is enough.
However, there are not many sellers of second-hand foreign
language books online at reasonable prices to satisfy this
group of customers.
1.3. Cheap prices will win in the online book business
market
The price war of e-commerce platforms makes the loyalty
of Vietnamese consumers the lowest in the world. This
leads consumers to compare prices and choose the cheapest
place to buy.
The difference you can make like:

- Rare, hard to buy, special, selective books.

For example, specialized books taught at universities are
often sought after by students at the beginning of the
semester. However, to connect book sellers and book
buyers is sometimes not simple. You can completely be the
middleman to buy and sell again.
- Good packing and service.
Some parties have special packaging and customer care that
makes them willing to return despite the higher price. It's
like enjoying a cup of coffee, but every coffee shop is a
completely different experience.
- Super fast delivery time.
As an online bookstore owner, in direct contact with
customers, you completely understand this need and place
orders quickly for customers at an affordable cost.
1.4. Building a business channel system to sell books
online
- Instagram: This is a fairly popular book-selling channel
of many successful small bookstores. Beautiful pictures,
good reviews, dedicated customer care are part of your
success.
- Facebook: Not just limited to book sales, you can join
community groups and recommend your books. Start
with book reviews that will attract quite a few followers.
Anyway, it would be better if the bookseller was the
reader, wouldn't it?
- Youtube: Consumers are now lazy to read longer
articles. So you can optimize them with review videos on
Youtube. When readers are interested in your product,
they can click the purchase link below.
2. Major Features
- Search product
- Login / Register an account
- Notification
- Cart
- Product portfolio
- Discount code
- Shopping trends
- Customer support service
- Product reviews
3. Assumptions and Dependencies
Our system runs on computers and phones, playing an
important role in running the applications in the system.
Moreover, receiving so much information a day it needs a
place to analyze and store the information. We need
Google's cloud to store information that helps business
restaurants access and keep detailed data when they want to
visit again.
Using google map to help staff deliver goods directly to
customers.
