study/address?
 Why should we care about your topic?
 Why there is a need to focus on the topic?

1.2 Study Objective

Research objectives are the outcomes that you aim to achieve by conducting research. Many
research projects contain more than one research objective. Creating strong research objectives
can help your organization achieve its overall goals. The purpose of research objectives is to
drive the research project, including data collection, analysis and conclusions. Research
objectives also help you narrow in on the focus of your research and key variables, guiding you
through the research process.

1.3 Significance of the study

The significance of the study is a part of the introduction of a thesis/research. It should

determine who benefits from the study and how that specific audience will benefit from
its findings. The significance of the study could be simply reflected by the following two
questions:
Why should my study be published?
What significant scientific contribution is my study making to my field of research?
2 PROJECT DESCRIPTION

2.1 Problem Statement

This could be either in question form or as a declarative statement. The major statement
or question may be followed by minor statements or questions. This attempt to focus on
a stated goal gives direction to the research process. It must be limited enough in scope
to make a definite conclusion possible.

2.2 Proposed Research

This should contain a single paragraph describing the general objective of the
project. The general objective of your study states what you expect to achieve
in general terms

This should contain the basic assumptions within which the research should
work the solution to the problem. Consequently, this should also contain the
extent of the prototype (if there is) to be developed and the means by which
the proposed research is to be evaluated on its capability of solving the
problem.

The limitations are those conditions beyond the control of the researchers that
may place restrictions on the conclusions of the study and their application to
other situations.

2.2.4 Methodology

This should contain the specific approaches that may be employed by the
researchers in arriving at the realization of a solution to the problem.
The methods section of a quantitative study should describe how each
objective of your study will be achieved. Be sure to provide enough detail to
enable the reader can make an informed assessment of the methods being
used to obtain results associated with the research problem. The methods
section should be presented in the past tense.
3 PROJECT MANAGEMENT

3.1 Calendar of Activities

This should contain the detailed sequence of activities that the researchers will undergo
in completing the project.

Gantt Chart of Activities

This should contain a chart giving when each of the activities listed above are expected to
start and end. The time unit should be in terms of the week number (not actual dates)
from the start of the semester.

3.2 Resources

Hardware
This should list the specific hardware resources that the researchers expect to need in
completing the project.

Software
This should list the specific software resources that the researchers expect to need in
completing the project.
