One could be forgiven for describing CareTrack as a GPS system. On the surface that is exactly what it appears to be and such a description certainly helps to explain the system in its simplest form. Yes, it uses satellites, and yes it allows you to locate your machine with pinpoint accuracy. But CareTrack offers much more than just that. Using CareTrack, you will actually have at your ngertips, more information about a machine than even its operator. Take machine monitoring to the next level At any given moment, wherever you are, you can access a wealth of valuable information about the state of your machines. For instance, you can see when they are being used, at what speeds they have been driven, fuel consumption, time remaining until next service, and much more. Or, you can simply check to see exactly where they are right now.

Your machines are a large capital investment in your business perhaps the largest so its wise to ensure that youre getting the maximum return on that investment. Sure, a well-run maintenance program and regular conversations with the operators provides good feedback on machine condition but there will always be more to the story that you need to see. How CareTrack keeps you in touch

With a CareTrack equipped eet, all that is needed to stay in touch with your machines is an internet connected computer.
Whether from the ofce, at home, or on the road anywhere there is internet access, you have a direct line to your eet. See their location, operating status, and upcoming service requirements. How? As a default, CareTrack uses GSM1)/GPRS2) to communicate directly with the on-board computers in your machine giving you a constant connection. Using a combination of the GSM/GPRS communications network and GPS (Global Positioning System) satellites to locate and connect with your machines, CareTrack moves information instantaneously from your machines CareTrack computer to your log in terminal. Each machine is tted with a small CareTrack control unit (W-ECU), an integrated GPS receiver/modem, and an antenna. This is connected to the machines onboard systems, giving you access to the relevant instrument panel readings and much more. Once CareTrack is active, when the machine is on, its always online. You can locate it anytime you like, from wherever you are. If your machines are out of range of GPRS, data can be sent via an optionally tted satellite transmitter. Simply log in through your secure CareTrack portal and every operating machine in your eet will be online, in real-time. Even when machines are not operating, detailed information about the previous days work will always be available, updated every 24 hours. CareTrack system is available in numerous markets globally and coverage is offered in more and more countries, as local regulations are met.

Daily operating information Every 24 hours, CareTrack makes available the previous days machine operating information in a manner thats easy to understand. Its like getting a complete daily technical update on each machine from the operator only more complete and more accurate. Or if preferred, CareTrack will email the same information, collated once a day, once a week or once a month as you determine. For a eet or operations manager, the time savings are enormous. The specic information provided varies according to machine. For example, CareTrack can tell you how many hours an excavator has spent working in the different work modes, or it can show the percentage of time an articulated hauler has been using the retarder or differential lock. Downloadable reports CareTrack reports are very easy to understand you dont have to be an expert to interpret them. Also, these reports are downloadable as either an Excel or PDF document. So, whether its to work with the data, print or email, its easy to get the information to the people that need it. Geofence and Timefence CareTrack allows you to set up geographical and time barriers for each machine. If it leaves its permitted working zone, or is started up on a day or at a time when it should not be operational, youll be quickly alerted by email or by mobile phone. But the possibilities dont end with the information that your company can retrieve. HoW CARETRACK PUTS YoUR dEAlERSHIP IN ToUCH WITH YoU

There are big CareTrack benets to be provided by your Volvo dealer as well they can be an additional, highly skilled resource to help manage the health of your eet.
Having your dealership help monitor your eet means they can see machines coming due for maintenance or service, allowing them to more effectively schedule a service technician for you in advance. Also in the dealership CareTrack toolbox is MATRIS* which provides readings of usage characteristics without the need to be onsite. MATRIS analysis provides historic data and analysis on each machines performance in easy to understand graph form. From this, your dealer can recommend changes in operator techniques, usage patterns, or even machine deployment, in order to get the most from it. By having machine information available remotely, your dealer can identify problems before they send a technician. This is a simple yet highly effective way to increase uptime and lower service costs. Also, remote diagnosis means technicians can be more certain of having the correct parts and equipment when they make a site service call. They will even know precisely where the machine is located and will reach the machine already equipped with diagnostic information. Therefore, time on-site is kept to an absolute minimum and machines return to work sooner. CareTrack gives you and your Volvo dealership strength in partnership. CARETRACK FoR oNE MACHINE oR FoR A WHolE FlEET

CareTrack has been developed at two levels: Basic and Advanced. CareTrack Basic
Any machine in your eet can be equipped with CareTrack Basic Volvo or any other including service vans and cars. It includes: l Real-time data The exact position (on a map, as latitude and longitude and as a street name) and total machine hours. l Daily usage reports Every 24 hours, easy to understand reports indicating how many hours the machine has been working and when it was started and stopped. You can subscribe to daily, weekly or monthly reports whichever you prefer. l Geofence You set the geographic boundaries within which your machine must operate. If it breaks your rules, you get an immediate alarm by email and on your mobile phone. l Timefence You decide which hours of the day and which days your machine operates. Again, if it breaks your rules, you get an alarm by email and on your mobile phone. l Service reminders and history Service reminders can be sent to you both by email and to your mobile phone. You can also see each machines service history on our secure website. l Planning for part changes CareTrack includes a function that lets you effectively plan for changing specic wear parts that fall outside the normal service regime (for example, particle lters). It can also give you timely reminders when the changes are due. l Downloadable reports Not only are CareTrack reports easy to understand, they can be downloaded to print or email which makes distributing eet management reports simple.

CareTrack Advanced
CareTrack Advanced is designed specically for use with Volvo Construction Equipment. It has all of the advantages of Basic, but also offers these additional functions: l Real-time fuel level of each machine Accessed via the CareTrack secure website and shown in simple graphic form. l Machine utilization and performance reports CareTrack can compile daily reports on the activity of your entire eet during the previous 24 hours. This makes it easy to compare the performance and productivity of individual machines (or separate shifts) against each other. You can subscribe to daily, weekly or monthly reports so you dont even have to remember to log on CareTrack will email the reports to you automatically. l Alarms and warnings Subscription is available for instrument panel warnings sent to your email and mobile phone as soon as they occur. This ensures that you know immediately about any problems with coolant, oil etc. l Remote troubleshooting Allows your dealership to analyze your machine before their technicians arrive onsite. This helps ensure the needed parts are brought with them, thus minimizing your downtime.
