How to log in to COMPAS - CSS for the first time and setting up authenticator

Target user: Seafarers

COMPAS

When logging in to the Crew Self service module through desktop/tablet or mobile, it is required to use
the authenticator app.

Prior accessing Crew Self Service through the mobile version, it is first required to log in the Crew Self
service through the desktop version to complete the Multi Factor authenticator setup.

Crew Self Service can be accessed with the below links:

Desktop Version: https://maerskcrew.compas.cloud


Mobile Version: https://maerskcrew.compas.cloud/cssmobile

Crew Self Service: Desktop Module

1 Enter user id /APM ID. E.g. 1234567.


Should you less than seven digits do
not enter the zeros in front.

You will be requested to generate a new

6 You will need to continue on your Smart Phone.

• If you have installed either Microsoft Authenticator or
Google Authenticator proceed to step 8.
• If you have access to Seafarer Cloud Identity
(Maerskcrew mail) you should have the authentication.
• If you have not installed any of the above apps proceed
to step 6a.

6a On your phone download and install one of


the Authentication apps. Microsoft Authenticator or
Google Authenticator.
• Download from Apple Store or from Google Play. You
might need your personal credentials for the store you 8
normally use. These credentials are not provided by
Maersk.

NOTE: Before starting to use the Authenticator
ensure the time settings on your phone has been
set to "Automatic". If set to
manual the Authenticator may not work.

7 Add the Compas account in the authenticator app. This example is
with Microsoft Authenticator.
Open the Authenticator app

8 On the account page press the + in the upper right corner

9 Chose Other (Can be in local language). It the last of the 3 options.

10 Scan the QR shown on your computer with your phone using the
Microsoft Authenticator app.

11 When the code is read on the phone then the Compas – Crew MFA account will be shown as the last
account on your phone

12 Read the 6 digit code for that account shown on the phone and enter this code in the field
Authenticator token on the screen on your computer.

14 You will now be asked to change your password.


It must consist of Uppercase characters, lowercase characters, number and special
characters. It must be at least 8 long. Do not use a password that includes your name,
birthday and things like this.

15 Click next
You should now have access to the Compas Crew Self Service.

If Compas do not launch delete the account created and try again.
In case of continuous failure contact Maersk.

Once the MFA setup is complete, you may log into Compas Crew Self Service through
desktop or mobile version.
You will only be required to enter user ID, password and the 6 digit code from
the Authenticator App on your phone.

When onboard after Compas has been launched, it will be possible to log on to Compas in two ways, The
Onboard module and the Crew self service module.

When at home it will be possible to log on to the Crew Self Service Module.

It will be required to use the authenticator code when logging on to the Crew self service module.
This will not be required for logging on to the onboard module.

How to Update Personal Profile


Target user: Vessel Crew

Crew Effects

Data like Address, Family members, Crew Effects can be updated in Personal Profile.
We can see how Crew Effects can be edited in Personal Profile

Fill up your personal effects in different categories like medicines,
Tobacco, etc. Your Electronics. Gold and other miscellaneous

How to Update Personal Profile

After Updating

If your wish to update/ change any information which is already present, press
the sign and follow steps and
The same procedure can be used to update/change other information
from Personal Profile information by pressing the ADD or EDIT buttons.

Address : Address, Contact number, Email ID, Home Airport etc.


Family Members : Information about Family, emergency contact etc.
Additional Information : Biometrics, INDOS, Phil Health number etc.
Education : Educational Qualifications.
Security Questions : For re-setting Passwords etc.
Membership and Preferences : Airline Membership, Flight preference etc.

How to Update Crew Readiness

Target user: Seafarers

Crew Readiness

Seafarer can update his crew readiness through Crew Self Service:

1 Open Events from main Menu

Click on the Readiness tab

Fill up your desired date of
readiness by clicking the calendar

After Updating

NOTE: Recording a new readiness date will overwrite the previously recorded Readiness
date (if any). Every crew member can have only one active readiness date in the system at
any given point in time.

Target user: Seafarers

Certification

Any Training/STCW certification can be Added and upload through CSS.


For updating renewed certificates, please directly refer to step 9.

1 Open Documents from main Menu

2 Click on the Certificates tab in the list of tabs.

3 Click on the button

4 A new Dialogue box opens up.

5 Enter the Certificate Name, Place of Issue and Number as in the Certificate.

6 Fill up the date of Issue/Revalidation, Original issue and Expiry by clicking the calendar
button.
If the certificate has no Expiry date then check the No expiry date Box, If it's a flag
document check Flag document box.
Choose the Issuing Authority from the drop down list. Enter Remark if required in the
Text Box

create a new entry.

Target user: Seafarers

Books

Discharge Books can be uploaded/updated through CSS.


For updating renewed Discharge Books, please directly refer to step 9.

Click on the Books tab in the list of tabs.

3 Click on the Add button. A new Dialogue box opens up.

4 Enter the Book Number and Place Of Issue as in the Book.

5 Fill up the Issue Date/Revalidation and Expiry by clicking the
calendar button. If the discharge book has no Expiry date then
check the No expiry date Box.

6 Choose the Issuing Authority from the drop down list. Enter Remark if required in the Text
Box.

Licenses

Certificate of Competency can be updated through CSS.


For updating renewed license, please directly refer to step 9.

1 Open Documents from main Menu

2 Click on the Licenses tab in the list of tabs.

5 Enter the Type, Capacity, Rank, Issue Authority and Limitations


(If any) from the drop down list.

If the certificate has no Expiry date then check the No expiry date Box. If it's a flag
document check Flag document box. Enter the Number and Issue Place. Enter Remark if

4 Enter the Visa For, Type and Passport from the drop down list.

How to Raise Reimbursement Claims for Expenses

Target user: Seafarer

Reimbursement Claims for Expenses

Seafarers can raise additional expenses claims for reimbursements:

1 Open Payroll and go to the Claim tab

2 Click on the Add Claims button

4 Select Vessel if cost incurred to vessel related travel.

5 Enter the Category (for type of Expense), To be paid in (for

Do no update "Link to" and leave it blank.
