--Create the directories in which the Oracle software will be installed on rac2

$ mkdir -p /u01/app/12.2.0.1/grid
$ mkdir -p /u01/app/oracle/product/12.2.0.1/db_1

--set environment to grid


$ . grid_env

--Verify the integrity of the cluster on rac1


$ cd /u01/app/12.2.0.1/grid/bin
$ cluvfy stage -pre nodeadd -n rac2 -fixup

--Navigate to the Grid_home/addnode directory on rac1 and run the addnode.sh script
as the user oracle
$ cd /u01/app/12.2.0.1/grid/addnode
$ . addnode.sh

--When prompted, run the root.sh script as root on rac2


$ /u01/app/12.2.0.1/grid/root.sh

--Navigate to the Oracle_home/addnode directory on rac1 and run the addnode.sh


script as oracle
$ cd /u01/app/oracle/product/12.2.0.1/db_1/addnode
$ ./addnode.sh "CLUSTER_NEW_NODES={rac2}"

--When prompted, run the root.sh script on rac2 as root


$ /u01/app/oracle/product/12.2.0.1/db_1/root.sh

--Run the following CVU command as oracle to check cluster integrity.


--This command verifies that any number of specified nodes has been successfully
added to the cluster at the network, shared storage, and clusterware levels:
$ cluvfy stage -post nodeadd -n rac2

--Add instance
$ srvctl add instance -db racdb -instance racdb2 -node rac2

--status of database
$ srvctl status database -db racdb
