LLG] eve tse becanie Page No Page 7 of 11 HANDLING OF MATERIALS: 7.2 Fans shall be off- loaded carefully using necessary manpower and required equipment i.e. tower crane, forklift, and hydraulic trolley to ensure that no damage is caused during unloading, 7.3 If using tower crane and using metal rope, protect the contact points between rope and the unit with angular pieces of wood, cardboard or any suitable material to prevent damage. If using forklift during unloading and ensure that the weight is balanced evenly on the blades do not strike against the base frame or panels. 7.4 All packages for Fans reaching to site shall be identified as per package list and visible. MATERIAL STORAGE: 7.5 At site all Fans will be stored in a clean / dry place and adequate covering by polythene sheets will be done to protect the equipment from deposition of construction dust till they are finally shifted to their location and or stored in their final location as per approved shop drawing (if applicable), 7.6 Avoid the equipment on top of one another di even storing. handling, transporting and 7.7 Never lift, push or pull the unit using fan impeller, shafts or any other drive parts that are not part of the supporting frame. Care must be taken to ensure the integrity of all equipment for Fans & Accessories. 7.8 Any discrepancies, damage, etc. found will be notified and reported for further action. 7.9 Site engineer has to ensure that the Fans used at site are free from any damage or deformity of any kind. Material found not suitable for site use will be removed immediately from the site. 8 INSPECTION OF MATERIAL 8.1 The project QA/QC Engineer together with the Project Engineer will inspect the received material and make sure that the delivered materials are as per the approved material submittal / sample. 8.2 After inspection by QA/QC Engineer/ Project Engineer, Material Inspection request (MIR) will be sent to the consultant engineer for checking and approval.Des wast SCHUSTER PECHTOLD a DocumentNo : MEP/MOS/AC-04 GY [Al Shirawi Electrical Revision No: O1 yeaa Ret «Oe cc2oie Page No i Page 8 of 11 8.3 After consultant's approval, the material/ equipment will be ready for installation 9 COORDINATION WITH OTHER TRADES 9.1 Engineer and Supervisor shall co-ordinate regarding the location of installation ie, clearance with other services as per approved MEP coordination drawing, 9.2 Installation to be carried out based on approved shop drawing/ coordination drawing and shall be coordinated well before installation. 10. INSTALLATION PROCEDURE 10.1 Pre- Installation Procedure: 10.1.1 Ensure that clearance is obtained from main contractor before commencement of Fan Installation works. 10.1.2 Ensure that the area of execution is clean and safe for carrying out the activities. 10.1.3 The relevant approved shop/ coordination and standard details drawings are approved and issued for construction and available in site, 10.1.4 It shall be ensured that no contradiction with other services installed previously, if any, must be cleared immediately. 10.1.5. Check the space clearance for transportation and installation of the Fan. Ensure hoisting platform can be erected and certified safe to use. 10.1.6 Check once again all materials i.e. equipment/ accessories and unit to be used is obtained approval during material inspection from consultant's engineer. 10.1.7 Visually check the exterior casing of Fan for any damage/s during transporting and transferring of the unit. 10.1.8 Site engineer shall ensure that the installation of the Fan is carried out in accordance with manufacturer's recommendation and approved shop drawings 10.1.9 After inspecting the work area, ensure that it is totally ready for installation, Then the required equipment shall be moved to the place of installation, 10.1.10 Mock- up installation approval to be obtained before proceeding with the installation.SCHUSTER PECHTOLD Document No; MEPIMOSIAC-04 1), di Shirawi Electrical Revision No: O1 Page No Page 9 of 11 INSTALLATION for FANS: The location, where the Fan is to be installed is correct i.e. foundation, orientation as per approved shop drawing Ensure that foundation is levelled as per approved shop drawing. Ensure that fan model to be installed is correct as per approved shop drawing and the location for installation is carried out. Shift the Fan to the place of installation in a safe manner. Use hand trolley/fork lift/crane as applicable/required as per site conditions. Use the lifting equipment suitable for the fan weight and size. Check the impeller has not been damaged or deformed during transport, is securely fixed to its rotation shaft, is able to freely turn around its axis and no foreign body is interfering with impeller operations. Mark & drill the location of fan’s support as per approved shop drawing. Refer approved standard details drawing for fixing and support shall be secured & fixed to building structure i.e. floor/ ceiling Vibration isolator shall be provided as per approved as per approved material submittal and installed into their mounting frame as per standard detailed shop drawing. 10.2.10 Fix properly and bolt the vibration isolator to the foundation as per supplier's recommendation. After fixing and completely satisfied, proceed for lifting of Fan. 10.2.1 Under direct supervision of the Site Engineer/ Supervisor, Safety Officer, together with the Supplier's representative, lift the Fan by following the guidelines from the supplier. 10.2.12 Lower the Fan above its foundation until the Fan is just above the spring mounts. 10.2.13 Guide the Fan and position it into the vibration isolator engaged with the ‘mounting holes in the Fan base frame, 10.2.14 Level the Fan by adjusting the bolts provided in the vibration isolator. 10.2.15 Securely fix the fan by inserting anchors with suitable diameter and correctly tightened, in all fixing holes provided.Gast ISCHUSTER PECHTOLD : a MMEPIMOSIAC-04 on 25 Dec 2018 Page 10 of 11 Wy, i shirawi Electrical J & wsechanical Engineering Co LL. 10.2.16 Comply with Fans manufacturers’ written installation and alignment instruction. 10.2.17 Ensure access provided for periodic maintenance, including removal of motors impellers, couplings and accessories. 10.2.18 Ensure adequate clearance/ space is provided as per supplier's recommendations and approved shop drawing to prevent unrestricted airflow. 10,2.19 Use a flexible duct connector between Fan and ducting to minimize transmission of vibration. Flexible connector will be connected to FANs suction and discharge ends with Gl and fire rated ducts as per the below mentioned methods- Cased; Axial FANS with straight at open ends- Required length of flexible connector will be cut as per the periphery. ‘Wrapping of connector will be done by considering the joints will be done at bottom portion of FANS in order to prevent water entry, if any. ‘* Proper riveting with regular interval will be done all round the circumference of flexible in such a way that, flexible will be overlap/laid above the FAN case or shield. Same way of flexible connector wrapping and riveting will be followed in duct side also. Fire sealant will be provided to fill the gaps b/w joint areas. General Requirements: All site team to strictly follow the recommendations/instructions given in attached risk assessment. Site engineer and safety officer to ensure that all people are wearing required PPE’s and following the recommendations.
