Scene Two
Rick: Hello, is that Joanna?
Joanna: Yes, hi Rick.
Rick: Hi, I’m calling to see if you want to go for a walk. I mean, with your dog. I’ve got one now, a puppy
actually, and they can become friends.
Joanna: That sounds good. Where do you want to go?
Rick: Well, my mum suggested the river but I was worried about them jumping in the water?
Joanna: Well, there’s the forest, but they can get easily lost in the trees, so how about the park? It’s quite
busy but at least it’s safe.
Rick: Good idea! At about ten then?
Joanna: Great! See you later.
Scene Three
Assistant: Good morning. Can I help you?
Dad: Yes, I’m looking for a brush. Err... Not for me… for my son’s dog. [laughs nervously].
Assistant: Yes, of course. This one here is good for all types of fur, cats and dogs, and is on special offer at
twenty-five pounds.
Dad: Oh, that’s a lot! And this one?
Assistant: Fifteen, but that one’s only for cats.
Dad: Oh!
Assistant: This one’s twelve. It’s quite good.
Dad: And it’s for dogs?
Assistant: Yes, it is.
Dad: OK, I’ll take it.
