III. Course Description:

Understanding the self is design to help students understand the nature of identity including factors that influence and shape personal
identity.
This course is conceptualized to aid undergraduate students to develop a more critical and reflective attitude in exploring the issues and concerns
of the self and identity for a better and proper way of understanding one’s self. It emphasizes the integration of personal daily experiences of the
students with their learning experiences to encourage them to improve themselves for a better quality of life.

IV. General Objectives

At the end of the course, the students will be able to

1. Identify the nature, concepts and meaning of self;


2. Unfolding the Biological self ;
3. Examine the different influences and forces that shape the self;

b. Material self
4. Demonstrate critical and reflective thought in analyzing the mental and emotional self;
5. Explain the concept of spiritual and emerging facet of the self; and
