1. Introduction
INCUBATOR :
An enclosed apparatus in which premature or unusually small babies are placed and
which provides a controlled and protective environment for their care.
INCUBATOR MACHINE :
An incubator, in microbiology, is an insulated and enclosed device that provides an
optimal condition of temperature, humidity, and other environmental conditions
required for the growth of organisms.
An incubator is a piece of vital laboratory equipment necessary for cultivating
microorganisms under artificial conditions.
An incubator can be used to cultivate both unicellular and multicellular organisms.
EGG INCUBATOR :
An egg incubator is a machine that creates the perfect conditions for an egg to incubate
and hatch successfully. An egg incubator is designed to regulate incubation
temperature and humidity at perfect levels. It recreates the role that the broody hen
plays in nature.
2. Literature Review
Egg fertilization is one of the important factor to be consider when operating a poultry
farm. Some eggs got spoiled when some factors such as temperature, humidity and egg
turning. It is therefore necessary to have a system that can monitor and maintain
constant factors in order to keep the eggs healthy with the use of a programmed
microcontroller to activate the heater and put the fan in OFF position when the
temperature is lower than the reference temperature and automatically put the heater
OFF and the fan ON when the temperature wants to exceed the reference temperature
putting the humidity inside the incubator into consideration. A well lagged rectangular
box material is use in order to prevent surrounding air into the box.
3. Problem Statement
Hatching process of the egg should be provide with the necessary heat and humidity in
an incubator. Failure to provide proper temperature to the egg can give an effect to the
egg health. There are so many people that owned exotic animal as their pets claimed
that their pet failed to hatch their egg to a new-born baby animal. This is because the
environment and temperature of surrounding where the egg is hatching by the parent
animal is not suitable for the incubation process. Failure to hatch the egg may got their
pets into depression.
4. Problem Solution
Increase humidity (wet-bulb temperature) during the hatching period. Increase
ventilation rate in incubator and/or room, but avoid drafts. Set eggs with small end
down. Turn eggs properly but avoid turning within 3 days of hatching.
5
5. Advantages/Benefits of proposed system
They guarantee a higher hatching rate.
They limit the breaking or falling of the eggs.
They ensure that the eggs are turned correctly every time.
They maintain constant temperature and humidity 24 hours a day.
6. Scope
Explanation of a Module:
Module is a section of a program that performs a particular task. Programs consist of modules, each
of which contains one or more routines. The term routine is synonymous with procedure, function,
and subroutine.
Examples:
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) software - is comprised of several large modules (for
example, finance, supply chain and payroll, etc.), which may be implemented with little or no
customization.
A classic example of a module-based application is Microsoft Word, which contains
modules incorporated from Microsoft Paint that help users create drawings or figures.
