“Brave Little Baby Dan” Story Telling

I. Objectives: A. Content Standard: Demonstrates understanding of text elements to see


the relationship between known and new information to facilitate
comprehension
B. Performance Standard: Correctly presents text elements through simple
organizers to make inferences, predictions and conclusions
C. Learning Competencies:
Identify and discuss the elements of a story (theme, setting, characters,
and events)
Recognize environmental print
Engage in a variety of ways to share information (e.g. role playing,
reporting, summarizing, retelling and show and tell)
D. Specific Objectives:
1. Identify the elements of a story (theme, setting, characters, and
events)
2. Discuss the elements of a story (theme, setting, characters, and
events)
3. Report a draw and tell.

II. Content: The learners will listen to the story presented by the teacher. After that, the pupils
will perform a draw and tell.

IV. Procedures: A. Before the Lesson
1. Routine: Prayer

Strategy: The teacher will unlock the difficulties through videos
The teacher and the pupils will sing together the rhyme Old
MacDonald Had A Farm
3. Processing/linking to the new lesson
1. Unlocking of words and concepts:
The teacher unlocks the words using videos
a. Maya
b. Wiggle
c. Blares
d. Restless
e. Scoop
2. Motivation:
Old MacDonald Had a Farm

3. Motive questions:
Do you have a baby sister or a baby brother?
B. During the Lesson
1. Introduction of the new lesson
Strategy: Read aloud by the teacher with pupils’ participation
Steps:
a. The teacher will read the title and the author.
b. The teacher will ask a question about the subject s\he
mentioned.
c. Questions are asked in between story telling.
2. Discussion of major concepts
Strategy: Experiential Learning
Steps:
a. The teacher will present a graphic organizer through the
Explain Everything app. Each pupil will have an assigned code
for them to enter and that the teacher can track their
progress.
b. Once they have entered the app and punched in the code, the
teacher will facilitate in answering the graphic organizer.
c. After the Lesson
1. Checking of Facets of Understanding (FU)
a. Explain: Ask the students what they can say about Little
Baby Dan
b. Interpret: The pupils will answer whether or not Little
Baby Dan is brave.
c. Apply: The pupils will fill out the graphic organizer
d. Perspective: Ask the pupils if they want to be like Little
Baby Dan
e. Empathy: It will be based on their answers from the
graphic organizer and in the Explanation phase.
f. Self-knowledge: It will be based on their answers from the
graphic organizer
3. Generalization/Summary
Strategy: Draw and Tell
Steps:
a. The teachers will ask the pupils to bring out their pencil and
paper.
b. The teacher will give instructions on what to draw.
c. The pupils will draw whatever they want
d. The teacher will ask students to share their drawings or what
was the story behind that drawing.

as theme, setting, characters, and events. They were able to recognize
environmental print and all of them performed draw and tell.
