3. Course Description : Philippine History viewed from the lens of selected primary sources in
different periods, analysis, and interpretations
4. Pre-requisite : None
5. Co-requisite : None
6. Credit : 3.0 units

At the end of the undergraduate program, the students are expected to:

1. Understand the major concepts and meaning of history;

2. Exhibit analytical ability in giving logical implications of primary and secondary historical sources;

3. Demonstrate a well-developed ability in conducting scholarly historical inquiries using established quantitative
and qualitative methods;

4. Show expertise in written, visual and oral presentation skills;

5. Display a profound and substantive understanding of the historical and contemporary political developments in
the national and global settings; and

6. Participate in any historical undertakings that involve the leadership skills and abilities of a true and well-
developed graduate.
*Final assessment will be a final examination (from first topic to the last) using the Multiple Choices Type Questions.

15. Policies and guidelines


a) Attendance is counted from the first regular class meeting.
b) A validated student identification card must be worn while attending classes.
c) A valid examination permit is required before a student can take a major examination.
d) Use of cellular phones or any electronic gadgets are NOT allowed during examinations.
e) Absence during a scheduled presentation is equivalent to zero.
f) Points will be deducted for late submission of requirements.
g) Honesty is called for at all times. Any form of dishonesty shall be dealt with accordingly.
h) Base-15 grading policy should be observed. Students who obtained failing scores in major exams are
recommended to attend the tutorial class.
