DESIGNATION OF SCHOOL DRRM COORDINATOR

MEMORANDUM TO:
KING E. PENKIAN
Teacher III
Kibudtungan Central Elementary School
Carmen Central District

In the exigency of service, you are hereby designated as the School DRRM
Coordinator of Kibudtungan Central Elementary School effective immediately or until sooner
revoked in additional to your regular teaching loads (R.A. 1880, CSC Resolution No. 090096, DepEd
Memo 2091 s. 2008, DepEd Order No. 16 s. 2009, R.A. 9155, Magna Carta of Public-School
Teacher, Civil Service Code).
You are expected to perform the duties and responsibilities attached to your
designation and such other related functions as may be assigned to ensure effective
implementation of the School DRRM policy and its program activities in the school setting.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Acknowledge receipt of advisories and reminders from the SDS and/or the Division
DRRM Coordinator, and the local DRRMC;
2. Ensure the establishment of an Early Warning System (i.e. bulletin board for weather
advisories, bell/siren emergency signal and the like);
3. Conduct an annual student-led risk identification and mapping within and around
the school premises to ensure a safe environment that is conducive to teaching and
learning (DepEd Order 23, S. 2015);
4. Maintain close coordination with local DRRM Council on the conduct of preparedness
activities and on response needs, among others;
5. Provide capacity building activities for teachers, non-teaching staff and learners on
DRRM;
6. Maintain, disseminate, and post relevant and updated emergency hotlines in strategic
locations throughout the school;
7. Post safety and preparedness measures and evacuation plans;
8. Check and ensure no stray animals that may cause harm to school personnel
learners;
9. Conduct disaster preparedness measures, including but not limited to quarterly multi-
hazard drills applicable to the school’s identified hazard such as earthquake, fire and
flood;
10. Putting up signages on identified hazard prone areas in the school;

11. Maintain the safekeeping of vital school records and learning materials;
12. Ensure availability of fire extinguisher in conspicuous places;
13. Prune trees especially adjacent to buildings and along electrical post;
14. Organize school DRRM team to support the implementation of preparedness and
response measures;
15. Ensure the availability of updated baseline education data of the school;
16. Lead the conduct of Annual Student-Led Hazard Mapping;
17. Conduct tree planting activities in the school;
18. Integrate DRRM in regular school programs and activities and school improvement
plan (SlP);
19. Pre-identify possible Temporary Learning Spaces (TLS) and alternative delivery modes
of education;
20. Monitor the effects of hazards, including the use of the school as evacuation center;
21. Track all  school personnel  during disasters and/or emergencies;
22. Prepare and submit reports on the effects of any hazard;
23. Ensure implementation of DepEd Order No. 43, s. 2412 or the “Guidelines on the
implementation of Executive Order No. 66 s.2012 (Prescribing Rules on the
Cancellation o or Suspension of Classes and Work in Government Offices Due to
Typhoons, Flooding, Other Weather Disturbances, and Calamities)”;
24. Conduct rapid assessment of damages after every hazard and submit RADaR within
72 hours via SMS and/or Online Application,
25. Facilitate immediate resumption of classes to track learners;
26. Monitor recovery and rehabilitation interventions being implemented in the school.

This designation does not carry with it any numeration or priority of promotion.
