This document discusses the four classifications of ideas: origin, relation, comprehension, and extension. Origin refers to whether ideas are intuitive (directly conceived) or derivative (stemming from intuition). Relation examines identical, different, associable, and opposed ideas. Comprehension is the attributes that constitute an idea, divided into simple, compound, concrete, and abstract. Extension refers to the number of individuals or categories an idea can be applied to, including singular, universal, particular, and collective. These classifications provide a framework for understanding ideas and the essence of things.

Origin, Relation, Comprehension, and Extension
Let's discuss the 4 classfication of ideas which is origin, relation,
comprehension, and extension. Also to explain about their sub categories of this ideas. Ideas may refer to an actual reality or to idea itself. Other ideas may be as they are or as product of the imagination. Begin with the first classification of ideas which is origin. So, origin was basically divided into two sub categories according to origin is intuitive and derivative. Intuitive means ideas that directly conceived from what they represent. Also known as direct or immediate idea. This intuitive was a something that can truly formed up into sensation and its the process of creating ideas as the result of the direct perception of things. For example, paper (it translated as thing). Then, derivative that ideas stem from intuition meaning its coming from the concept of intuition and its give you a different approach on how of what particular thing is. Example, centaur derived from intuitive ideas: man and horse). Next is according to relation, in this idea is a standpoint of mutual relation are either identical or different ideas, also associable ideas and opposed ideas of its kinds. Identical idea are those which have the same comprehension just like for example, water - H20, sodium chloride - salt. It could be formally or materially identical that bear the same extension and comprehension. While, different ideas which does not have the same extension nor comprehension like example, tree - dog. Associable ideas is the different ideas that are not mutually exclusive; can be joined or compounded in the same ideas which means that can be harmoniously joined or compounded for example, black, cat = black cat. Next, opposed ideas which are not associable they called repugnant ideas. It is about something or in are totally different from each other. There are kinds of opposed ideas: contrary and contradictory. In contrary ideas that exclude each other, leave a ground between. It opposed to each other in a certain class, example: black and white, rich and poor. On the other hand, contradictory ideas exclude each other and leaves no common ground between them and can be extremely opposite ideas. Example, life and death, faithful and unfaithful.
Then, let's proceed to comprehension and to explain it further. Comprehension is
the sum total of all the attributes that constitute an idea in its representation of a thing. So, this comprehension was able to concept a idea that represents different characteristics taken by abstraction from the individuals. There are four subcategories according to comprehension, we have simple ideas, compound ideas, concrete ideas and abstract ideas. Simple ideas are those who only have one note in their comprehension means that a single concept feature was applicable to all if not most. Example: essence, unity, and perfection. Coumpound ideas which express several conceptual elements of features, it means that more than one note of its concept of an idea. Example of that is rational-animal, white man, philosopher. Observe that even if man is simple as regards the term, the idea expressed whether as rational-animal, or as an individual having a human nature is compound. Then, concrete ideas are those which represent something as a subject together with its determinant. It expressing a subject as qualified by a nature, quality or formal feature. Example: man, a physician, something white - distinguish this logical concrete from the physical concrete, which is a material thing that can be weighed and measured. The last one sub- categories according to comprehension is abstract ideas, represent a determinant separated from a subject. The things do not have a physical reality but you can feel them. This is one of the traits that separates humans from the sentient creatures. Example like rationally, virtue, science, democracy.
Lastly, the extension ideas is the sum-total of individuals and categories of
beings to which the idea may be applied. The idea rational-animal can be applied to all men; hence, all men constitute the extension of the idea. Living material substance can be applied to plants, brutes and men; hence, the latter are the extension of the said concept. We have four sub-categories according to extension include singular ideas, universal ideas, particular ideas, and collective ideas. Let's tackle this first sub categories which is singular ideas, only one object/note in their extension. It signifies one, definite, specific individual that concept applicable to its own. Example, president of the Philippine, Miss universe 2021, the highest mountain. Then, universal ideas those which have many objects in their extension means that signifies all the individuals within the extension of such concept. Example: everybody, all students, each one. Particular an idea which stands for an indefinite number of individuals and expresses only a part of a universal. An example of that is most teachers, few candidates. And last one was a collective ideas, those which signify a number of individuals taken as a unit. Expresses a unit or group to share their thoughts or experience in the society. Example: family, army, flock, company. This four classification of ideas was really to defined of its concept to understand in every categories of the ideas and essence of things.
