1 INTRODUCTION

1.1 Project Background

Eni Muara Bakau B.V. (Operator 55.0%) in joint venture with Neptune Energy (33.7%)
and PT. Saka Indonesia (11.3%) is developing the Jangkrik Complex Project (JKK)
inclusive of Jangkrik Main (JKK Main) and Jangkrik North East (JKNE Fields). The JKK
Complex is located in the Muara Bakau PSC permit area approximately 70 km off the coast
of Makassar Strait, offshore East Kalimantan. Water depths in Jangkrik Complex are
ranging from 200 to 500m.

The subsea development consists of seven (7) wells at JKK Main field and four (4) wells
at JKNE field tied back to a spread moored FPU with full treatment facilities. Seven (7)
subsea wells of JKK Main field will be drilled from three (3) drilling centres named Drill
Centre Cluster 1, Drill Centre Cluster 2 and Drill Centre Cluster 3. Production of these
drilling centres will be gathered by 3 manifolds named Manifold 1, Manifold 2 and Manifold
3. Two (2) of JKNE field wells will be satellite wells, connected to an intermediate manifold
named Manifold NE2. The remaining two (2) wells will be drilled from a drilling centre
named Drill Centre Cluster NE1, where a manifold named Manifold NE1 will gather the
production of these two wells.

The multiplexed electro hydraulic control system comprises main umbilical starting from
the FPU and terminating at respective Umbilical Termination Assembly (UTA). The UTAs
are connected to a Subsea Distribution Units (SDUs) by means of electro hydraulic flying
leads. The electro hydraulic flying leads will also connect the UTAs/SDUs to the subsea
control module (SCM) on the subsea wellheads/manifolds to control and monitor the
subsea wellheads/manifolds. The treated gas and condensate from FPU are then exported
via 24inch treated gas export pipeline and 4inch condensate export pipeline to shore at
Sapi Landfall. An onshore receiving facility (ORF) fiscal metering system for gas and
condensates is located approximately 4kms downstream of Sapi Landfall. Gas and
condensates pipelines are then tied-in to the existing East Kalimantan Pipeline Network.
Final destination of Jangkrik treated gas is to the Bontang LNG Plant and local market;
and the final destination of Jangkrik condensate is to the Senipah Plant.

Jangkrik Onshore Receiving Unit (ORF) introducing a renewable energy source (solar PV
plant). The electrical system on ORF is powered by two Gas Engine Generators (GEG) that
supply power to the electrical facilities of the plant during normal operating condition.
Currently, one GEG is running, while the other one in standby, according to sparing
philosophy of 2 X 100%. To reduce CO2 emission and as an energy efficiency effort, it is
proposed to reduce the use of existing GEG with the new Solar PV farm for power
generation source at ORF.

5 ADDITIONAL FACILITY AT ORF - HYBRID PV PLANT

Hybrid PV Plant is a new renewable energy source that located at Jangkrik ORF to reduce
CO2 emission and as an energy efficiency effort. PV Plant is proposed to reduce the use
of existing Gas Engine Generator (GEG) with the new Solar PV farm for power generation
source at ORF as indicated in Figure 5.1.

In this scope of work, additional facility at ORF consist of ORF PV plant area and electrical
room as non-hazardous area and battery room as hazardous area. The layout of ORF
facilities is shown in Figure 5.1.

6 STUDY BASIS AND ASSUMPTION

6.1 Hazard Source Identification

6.1.1 Hazard Source Identification at ORF PV Plant Area

The potential hazard on ORF PV plant area is short circuit in electrical equipment. The
detection used is a linear heat detector and for the fire extinguisher used Dry Chemical
Powder BE type.

6.1.2 Hazard Source Identification at ORF PV Power House

• Electrical Room
The potential hazard on electrical room is short circuit in electrical equipment. The
smoke generation starts at the incipient stage of the fire, then the detection used
for electrical room as the enclosed spaces is smoke detector.
• Battery Room
H2 Gas Detector, calibrated for detecting H2 gas, shall be installed in battery room
where there is a possibility of hydrogen gas release.
Smoke detector shall be fitted in battery room as enclosed areas containing
electrical equipment and general combustibles, where smoke can be expected at
very early stage of a fire.
• Control Room
The potential hazard on control room is short circuit in electrical equipment. The
smoke generation starts at the incipient stage of the fire, then the detection used
for control room as the enclosed spaces is smoke detector.

6.2 Fire and Gas Detector Study Basis and Assumption
The following list details the study and assumptions used for this study:

1. For Linear Heat Detector (LHD), the thermo-sensitive cable detects heat anywhere
along its length. The LHD will signaling alarm trip if temperature of photovoltaic exceed
780C.
2. Smoke detectors is the basis of fire detection within the enclosed spaces containing
electrical equipment and general combustibles. According to NFPA 72, One smoke
detectors will cover a radius of maximum 21 ft (6.4 m), and an maximum area of
coverage of 1.385 ft2 (422 m2). The maximum distance between two smoke alarms
should be 30 ft (9.15 m).

3. Hydrogen gas detectors shall be located in Battery Rooms to detect the

release/accumulation of hydrogen. For H2 gas, Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) is 4% and
Upper Explosive Limit (UEL) is 75%. Therefore, the concentration of H2 gas in the
Battery Room should not be in the range of 4% -75%.
4. Fire and gas detector was designed using voting logic 2ooN (where N is equal to 2 or
greater) to confirm the hazard before an automatic action occurs.
