The document provides information to estimate quantities of works for a proposed 300 km long, 4-lane flexible pavement between Lahore and Sialkot in Pakistan. It asks to estimate quantities for all components except the subgrade. It also asks to describe quantities if the pavement is replaced with rigid pavement. Drawings of cross-sections and plans for the main road, shoulders, and miscellaneous items are also requested.

Problem # 01:

A flexible pavement is proposed between Lahore and Sialkot section of motorway by national highway authority (NHA). The length of the section is
300 km. the road is 4 lanes each side.
If the all components of the flexible pavement are provided except subgrade. Estimate the quantity of works?
Width of each lane = 4.5 m Width of shoulder on each side = 4m
If the pavement is replacing with rigid pavement, describe the quantities of new items.
Draw the neat plans and cross sections of main road (flexible and rigid), shoulders and miscellaneous items.
Road Lighting: 10 poles in 1 km on both sides of the road.
Road marking: 5m x 0.15m @ 5m
Longitudinal joints: along the median Transverse joints: after 20 m on the both sides.
