Crane Maintenance Check List
1. Make sure fluid levels in the crane, compressor, and engine are within the manufacturers’
specifica ons.
2. Check for loose, broken, or damaged components and fasteners.
3. Check for leaking cylinder seals & condi on of hydraulic hoses.
4. Check the following components for oil leaks:
• Engine
• Transmission
• PTO
• Pump
• Hydraulic reservoir
5. Inspect wire rope.
6. Check for proper func on of the counter balance valves to ensure the crane load will not be
compromised.
7. Make sure outriggers opera on is smooth.
8. Make sure all safety devices are in place and in good working order, and labels are legible.
9. Check for loose, broken, or damaged components and fasteners
CHECK POINT - MONTHLY OR AFTER 250 HOURS OF USE, WHICH EVER IS EARLIER.
A monthly inspec on schedule should be developed. Monthly inspec ons should be performed at
the same me every month by qualified personnel with knowledge of the equipment and its features
and func ons.
1. Wash the truck, body, and crane.
2. Check the following for leaks & damages
• Engine
• Transmission, PTO, and pump
• Crane
• Hydraulic reservoir
• All cylinders
• All other fluids or lubricants on truck
• Crane Moun ng (base stops, spacers)
• Crane Base (bol ng, pins, bushes, locks)
• Extension Beam(s) & Jacks
• Extensions (wear pads, locks)
• Slew Bearing / Slew bearing / Bolts
• Crane Body (bol ng, pins, bushes, locks)
• Inner Boom (pins, bushes, locks)
• Outer Boom (pins, bushes, locks)
• Extending Booms (wear pads)
• Hooks & Hook a achments 11.5t SWL hook.
• Ropes (termina ons, length n/a 12 Sheaves n/a 13 Hydraulic Tank & Hose
3. Make sure all fluid levels in the crane, compressor, and engine are within the manufacturers’
specifica ons.
4. Check for loose, broken, or damaged components and fasteners.
5. To check for loose, broken, or damaged pedestal bolts, torque to 5% less than suggested value. If
bolt turns, replace the bolt and thread locker if applicable.
6. Make sure all safety devices are in place and in good working order, and labels are legible.
7. Check cable drum for wear.
8. Check for un-even noise from any parts.
CHECK POINT - QUARTERLY OR AFTER 2000 HOURS OF USE, WHICH EVER IS EARLIER.
A quarterly inspec on schedule should be developed. Quarterly inspec ons should be done
by qualified personnel with knowledge of the equipment and its features and func ons. This
inspec on should include, but not be limited to, the following:
