Final Exam – Written Speech

Without a doubt, the most serious environmental challenge that the world is currently facing is
global warming. It is critical to comprehend the gravity of the situation. The fuel you use to
power your homes, cars, and businesses, among other things, is heating up the planet faster than
expected. We are documenting the hottest days and decades in history. What's more concerning
is that the earth's temperature has risen to its highest point in a decade. If we don't act now, it will
only get worse.

As the planet warms, we must act now rather than wait for more. Fossil fuels are the primary
source of global warming. Humans are addicted to burning them, which results in the production
of coal, oil, greenhouse gases, and other byproducts. Carbon dioxide is produced by power
plants, cards, and industries and remains in the atmosphere for at least 5 decades. This is why the
earth's temperature is rising.

The oceans are rising as a result of the temperature increase, and coral reefs are dying. Many
aquatic species are becoming extinct as the glaciers melt. Greenland is losing more mass than it
is gaining from new snowfall. As a result, as the Earth warms, it will continue to contract.
Furthermore, extreme weather patterns are visible to the public. Heat waves, droughts, and
floods are becoming more severe and frequent.

The time has come to act to stop global warming before it becomes irreversible. Electricity and
transportation are major contributors to global warming, so we must start there. It is important to
note that there is no silver bullet and that we must all work together to combat global warming.
To address this crisis, every home, business, industry, and individual effort is required. As coal
produces tons of Carbon dioxide annually, we need to find ways to clean up coal. We can also
tackle global warming by beginning with putting agriculture in the system. We must encourage
farmers to adapt to greener farming practices. For instance, they must till land less often, and plant
trees on vacant land.

Moreover, other industrial carbon dioxide producers must be subjected to the same regime. For
example, the transportation industry (cars, trucks, planes, and so on) emits a significant amount
of Carbon dioxide. As a result, we must reduce these emissions by improving vehicle fuel
efficiency. Furthermore, it is past time to transition away from oil and gasoline-based fuels and
toward greener alternatives.

Global warming will continue to accelerate as long as humans continue to emit greenhouse
gases. The consequences are felt on a much smaller scale for the time being, but they will
become more severe in the near future. Humans have the ability to save the day; the need is to
seize the day. Individuals should reduce their energy consumption. Fuel-efficient cars and other
electronics should be encouraged to reduce energy waste. This will also improve air quality and
lower greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere. Global warming is a scourge that can only be
overcome if we all work together to combat it.
It is better to be late than never. If we all take action today, we will have a much brighter future
tomorrow. Global warming is the bane of our existence, and various policies have been
implemented around the world to combat it, but they are insufficient. When we fight it on an
individual level, we can make a real difference. Understanding its significance now is critical
before it becomes an irreversible mistake. Extinguishing global warming is critical, and each of
us is equally responsible.
 
Individually, we must also work to live a greener and healthier lifestyle. Try to drive less and
walk or take public transportation more. Make recycling a habit to avoid unnecessary waste of
goods. Turn off appliances when they are not in use to save energy. Most importantly, plant a
tree because a single tree can absorb one ton of Carbon dioxide in its lifetime. Remember that
change begins with you. Don't be afraid to make a difference. Start making a change.
