CORO OR CHOIR LOFT


Choir lofts were often built facing outdoors for purposes of outdoor
processions.

screen or, more often, a choir rail divides the choir from the nave in certain
churches.
PULPITO
an elevated box or platform used by the priest or minister to stand while
giving the sermon in a church.

It is not usually in the center because God is the center of activity not man.
To emphasize further this centrality of Jesus Christ, the pulpit and the
lectern are placed to the side.
COMPANARIO

or more commonly knwon as Bell Tower, are like

They were usually located at the corners of an ancient Spanish colonial
fortress that surrounded the massive stone church.
RETABLOS

Retablos are flat panels painted with devotional motifs from Christian
iconography on wood (usually pine). Altar screens, which are frequently
ordered for churches, typically consist of several retablos set within of a
wood architectural frame.
NARTHEX

The lobby or entry space is found at the western end of the nave, directly
across from the main altar, and is a feature common to early Christian and
Byzantine basilicas and churches.
