The Lucena river basin is made up of 2 major rivers, the Iyam River to the west and the Dumacaa River to the east. These twin rivers still contain a rich biodiversity of both flora and fauna. The proposed site for development is located near Cotta and Dalahican barangays with access via major roads and a bridge. It has a balance of developed and undeveloped areas, green spaces, and economic potential from establishments in the area like the Cotta Port.

rivers are putting at risk.

•The failure to comply with the building


code and water code or clean water act
while constructing homes and other
infrastructures. (Ex: illegal sewage pipe
connection and unhealthy water
discharge)

•Informal settlers in riverbanks

•Construction of roads or pathways on


the riverbanks

•Dumping of waste into the river system
