I. OBJECTIVE:
During the 1 hour Music 1 lesson, students are expected to:
a. recognize the pulse of the sounds
b. discover the emphasis of each sounds correctly
c. write a slow and fast pulse of a sounds

II. SUBJECT MATTER:


A. SUBJECT: The pulse of the sounds
B. REFERENCES: slideshare.net, Google, YouTube
C. INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL: Laptop, Power point presentation, Google
meet

III. PROCEDURE:
Teacher`s Activity Student`s Activity
I. Prayer

Present via YouTube The student will close their eyes and
pray.
Good morning class! Let us start our
session for today with a prayer through
this video.

II. Greetings

Good day kids! Good day too sir!

III. Checking of attendance


Can you name who missed this class? No one missed the class today, sir.

Okay kids that is very good!

IV. Motivation

Are you kid’s familiar with the word Yes/No.

For everyone’s knowledge, we have a


pulse. The wrist can be found in different
parts of the body.

Examples are on the wrist and neck.


Yes sir!
Now, let’s define and find out where there
is an effective pulse in our body. Are you
kids ready? Yes sir!
But first we need silence to feel our pulse.
Understand children?
Neck/arm/foot
Now that we are done, which part of the
body has an effective pulse?
No sir!
But did you kids know that even music
has a pulse like humans?

The pulse of music is the beat we hear or


feel. It can be fast or slow.

As in humans, the speed or slowness of


the pulse depends on the feeling. For
example, how do you feel when you are
nervous?
My heart is beating fast, sir!
What are you going through now that
you're just sitting there?

Slow heartbeat sir!

That's right kids, so is the pulse of the


music, its pulse is adjusted depending on
how the music wants to make us feel.
V. Motivation
(Video Presentation)
Close your eyes and listen to the
following sounds that the video will play.
Check the sounds and determine if the
pulse is slow or fast.

1. Walking
2. Running
3. Clock ticking
4. Ambulance siren.
5. Ringing Bell

Great kids! All your answers are correct.

VI. Discussion

The compass or beat is the pulse of the


music. Proper sound and regularity is
called rhythm. This is one of the most
important elements of music.

What exactly is the rhythm based on what Sounds regular or good, sir!
you heard?
Yes sir!
That's right kids. Did anyone learn?

VII. Evaluation
Everyone will think of three example of a
sound with a slow and fast pulse of
music. Write and show me in the screen.

VIII. Assignment

Mark (I) the sounds that are continuously


heard and (-) if the sound is silent.

Examples:
Raindrops: I I I I I I
Dog barking: I I - - I I I - - I – I
