Method of Data Collection

It would be necessary to find out and compare the affordability of food items in certain

supermarkets. Subsequent to this information to be used to collect or gather data will be via

questionnaires, doing an investigation on the internet and visiting three different supermarkets to

compare the affordability of food items at each. The procedure is outlined below:

1. Create the questionnaire for the survey(see appendix)

2. Determine the sample size (in this case 20)

3. Visit the three (3) different supermarkets to compare and discover their affordability of

food items.

Conclusion

From the data collected the researchers concluded that batter is relative depending on the class

status the customers are from. People from a lower and middle class would say Shoppers Fair is

the preferred supermarket to purchase. This is because they get goods or food items at a better

price or cost depending on their budget. People from the upper class on the other hand, think

Value Mart and Mega Mart are the preferred place to shop for their food items because they get a

better deal when purchasing in bulk and are considered more reasonable to them than lower and

middle class. Hence, it was discovered that the more affordable supermarket ito shop is relative

to the class status and financial status of individual customers.
