WHY CHOOSE WESTERN MUSIC?
Study music at Western to make the most of your talents and take your place in the
music industry. An industry that includes performers, agents, engineers, managers,
teachers, and entrepreneurs from every business discipline.

At Western, you will join one of the largest, friendliest music faculties in one of Canada's
most beautiful campuses. You will enjoy the academic challenge of a comprehensive
university, and, yes, you can even combine a BMus with an Ivey HBA.

“One of my favourite aspects in this program is the fact you get to know
your professors really closely. This is a school that truly focuses on
putting students first. As a student, you can develop a relationship with
someone who can guide you and nurture more academic skills.
My writing skills have improved and I’ve had access to unique resources.
There is also a very close relationship between the administration and
the students. You don’t feel as though you’re in a large organization,
which in many ways helps the transition from high school to university.”

Evelyn Vanderhoof
Bachelor of Arts (Honours Music and Political Science)

“The Music Recording Arts program allows you to have classical training
and apply it to the popular music field. There are different streams you
can go into. You can be an engineer in a studio, you can be a producer,
work in live recording, you can even pursue the music business part at a
label if you like. There are so many streams, and so many possibilities
that I feel like only this program can give you.”

Brian Marshall
