CH 6 Presentation PDF

This document discusses well test analysis and pressure transient analysis. It provides analysis of wells near boundaries and faults by examining pressure drawdown and buildup tests on semi-log plots. The slopes of straight lines on these plots can indicate infinite-acting reservoirs or the impact of boundaries. Examples are provided to determine permeability, skin factor, flow capacity, and other reservoir properties from pressure transient analysis methods like Horner plot, equivalent time, and derivative analysis.

The plot of 𝒕 vs 𝑷𝒘𝒇 or 𝑫𝑷𝒘𝒇 on semi-log paper yields
two straight lines. The first is the infinite acting line while the
second is the impact of the nearest boundaries or a fault. The
slope of the second line is twice the slope of the first.
