Prof. Mahadeva Lal Schroff
(March 6, 1902 - August 25, 1971)

Prof. M. L. Schroff, is recognized as the Father of Pharmacy Education in India. He certainly


remains an ideal to all pharmacists working in this country irrespective of their branches and
diversity of duties.
He played a great role in building pharmacy education in India, he also contributed to the
development of other aspects of the pharmacy profession. Prof Schroff started the M.Pharm
Education in 1940 at BHU with his efforts. Slowly, pharmacy education sprung up in different
places in India.

Pharmacy Council of India has decided to recognize the contribution of Prof.


Mahadeva Lal Schroff for establishing the Pharmacy Education in India by declaring
his 'Birth Anniversary' 6 March as "National Pharmacy Education Day"

so that academic research and their patents
must be recognized globally for their indings and
establishing the commercial viability.

About Pharmacy Council of India
The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) is a statutory body working under the Ministry of Health and
F.W., Government of India. It is constituted under the Pharmacy Act, 1948 to regulate
pharmacy education & practice of profession in the country.
• The Pharmacy Act 1948 was enacted on 4.3.48 with the following preamble- "An Act to regulate
the profession of pharmacy. Whereas it is expedient to make better provision for the regulation
of the profession and practice of pharmacy and for that purpose to constitute Pharmacy
Councils".
• The PCI was constituted on 9.8.49 under section 3 of the Pharmacy Act.
OBJECTIVES
• Regulation of the Pharmacy Education in the Country for the purpose of registration as a
pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act.
• Regulation of Profession and Practice of Pharmacy.

About the Event


As our Visionary Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji already said that global trust earned by the
Indian healthcare sector has led to India being called the "Pharmacy of the World", Pharmacy
Council of India has taken an initiative to create a platform where academic research and their
patents must be recognized globally for their indings and establishing the commercial viability of
it.

In this connection, Pharmacy Council of India under its patronage is celebrating Prof. M. L. Shroff's
121st birth anniversary as Pharma Anveshan-2023 on 6th March 2023 in New Delhi with a vision of
providing a platform for sharing the Academic Research with Industry to exchange the bene its of
research outcomes between academia and Industry. By this interlinking academic research may be
explored for commercial purpose and hence for the bene it of Society.

Pharma Anveshan-2023 that will take place at on 6th March 2023 at 10.00 AM.

Delegates all across the country are invited for participating in the event, including pharmacy
teachers, researchers and leading pharma industry of icials.

This Event will help the Pharmacy Professionals all across the Nation to gain recent insights for the
upcoming research in the Post-Covid Era. Moreover one gets to meet the industry's high priests who
come from all over the orb. One learns from the companies de ined by their progressive ethos and
dynamic strategies and also through the highly interactive sessions and panel discussions. This
event will feature participant's questions, giving the opportunity to take part and shape the
conversation.

Guidelines for participation in various categories.


• Participant can choose any one category at a time
• Budding Start-ups related to Pharmacy are encouraged to participate
• Certi icate of Patent Grant should be provided along with the brief document
• Any request for extension of last date will not be entertained
• Patent should be granted between Jan 2019 to Jan 2023
