Cyborg Trench Rulebook

CYBORG-TRENCH

TASK:

Teams have to build a manually controlled bot that can-do simple tasks of
gripping objects and putting them in target zones so that it can complete the
route by overcoming the hurdles in its path.

ELIGIBLITY CRITERIA:

● A team may consist of a maximum of 4 members.


● All students with a valid identity card of their respective educational
institutes are eligible to participate.
● Students from different educational institutes can form a team.

BOT SPECIFICATIONS:

⮚ The dimensions of the bot should be less than or equal to 30x30x30cm


(lxbxh) failing which the team will be disqualified from the competition
(this excludes the dimension of the gripper but includes tires).
⮚ Maximum weight should not be more than 3-3.5Kg.
⮚ The bot must be controlled manually.
⮚ They have to use either a dual-frequency remote, Bluetooth or Wifi.
⮚ The electric voltage anywhere in the machine should not be more than 12V
DC at any point in time for each robot.
⮚ The power source must be non-polluting.
⮚ Teams can use both wired and wireless control mechanisms. The length of
the wire should be a minimum of 1.5 meters so that the wire remains slack
at any instant of time.
⮚ The dimensions of the remote are not included in the size constraint of the
bot.
⮚ The Bot must have an onboard power supply in any case.
⮚ Participants are not supposed to use any readymade Lego components or
readymade gripping mechanism. However, the participants are allowed to
use ready-made gear assemblies.
⮚ The mechanism used should be such that only one person will control the
bot.
⮚ Failing to meet any of the above specifications will lead to immediate
disqualification.

ARENA:

● The outer dimensions of the arena are 8000mm X 6000mm (lxb).


● There will be some Slope & Bridge.
● Many hurdles will include in Arena.
● Track surface and course may have unevenness.
● There might be abrupt angles.
● There will be certain obstacles in race track which will try to slow down the
speed of the robot ex. Road cones.
● Arena will consist of switch gate, speed breakers, marble/sand pits, slippery
paths, rotating disc, etc.

EVENT SPECIFICATIONS:

● This event includes two rounds. Different tasks will be performed in


different rounds.

1. 1st Round-
● This round will be an elimination round.
● This round comprises of pick and place objects confined to be
placed at definite locations crossing various hurdles in between
the track.
● Half of the selected team will be qualified for final round.

2. 2nd Round-
● Surprise elements will be added in the track to increase the
difficulty level of the finale round.
● Final showdown will be there in 2nd round after all the
elimination and qualifier rounds.

GAME RULES:
1. The bot would be checked for safety before starting and will be
disqualified if found unsafe for other participants.
2. Only one team member is allowed to handle the bot.
3. The bot will be liable for disqualification if it causes any kind of damage
to the arena.
4. The bot is not allowed to slide the blocks against the ground except for
fine adjustments in the Deposit Zone.
5. Any damage done to the blocks will lead to immediate disqualification.
6. A maximum of 10 minutes will be given to each team to complete the
track.
7. The arena has 5 checkpoints. In case the bot gets stuck at any place, then
the block it is carrying (if any) will be repositioned at its initial position
and the bot will be kept in the checkpoints corresponding to that zone.
There will be no penalty for this.
8. Blocks that are correctly deposited in deposit zones/pushed from the ramp
will not be disturbed
9. The timer won’t be stopped during this process (except allowed technical
glitch time period).
10. In case of any disputes/discrepancies, the organizer’s decision will be
final and binding.
11. The organizers reserve the right to change any or all the above rules as
they deem fit.

JUDGING CRITERIA:

 20 points will be awarded for successfully crossing a checkpoint.


 10 points will be awarded for completing a hurdle.
 10 points will be awarded for pick up the box.
 20 points will be awarded for successfully placing the box in deposit zone.
 In case of technical glitch maximum allowed minutes in total for
rectification = 3minutes.
 10 points extra awarded if you able to move both jaws of gripper.
 If Your bot gets stuck in any place you will penalise 5 points for hand
touching and you must start from previous checkpoint.
 1 point will be deducted if your bot goes out of the boundary line of track.

SCORING:

A = Points Scored
P = Penalties
T = (500 – Time taken in seconds).

Total points = A + T – P

CERTIFICATION:

 Certificate of excellence will be provided to top 3 performers of the event.


 Certificate of participation will be provided to every participant of the
event.
