Introduction This manual provides valuable information for the installation, operation and routine maintenance of both the: SafeSea E100 EPIRB & SafeSea E1006 EPIRB with GPS 2 E100/E1006 Overview 3. TESTING THE GPS RECEIVER —@ EXPENDS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF BATTERY ENERGY AND MAY ‘TAKE UP TO 10 MINUTES TO COMPLETE. THIS TEST MUST ONLY BE PERFORMED WHERE THE EPIRB HAS A @ CLEAR AND uNoBSTRUCTED VIEW OF THE SKY. THIS Is REQUIRED TO ALLOW THE GPS RECEIVER TO ACQUIRE A SIGNAL FROM SUFFICIENT SATELLITES TO ALLOW IT TO DETERMINE A POSITION Itis recommended that this test is not performed counting the LED flashes at the end of the test difficult.
