Flowchart

The document outlines the process for producing eco-blocks from plastic waste. It involves: 1) Collecting and sorting plastic scrap 2) Shredding and grinding the plastic into smaller pieces 3) Preparing and mixing the plastic pieces with cement and sand in a specific ratio 4) Molding the mixture into blocks and drying them for at least 24 hours before use or storage.

1. Collecting of Plastics – This process involves gathering, accumulating and sorting

scrap or waste plastic in order to only choose the usable plastic which will be used in
the production and also collection comes in many ways such as purchasing it and
from community drive and many more.
2. Shredding and Grinding of Plastics - The shredding and grinding is the mechanical
process of solid waste size reduction and breaking down of waste into smaller parts
and produces raw material to be re-introduced into manufacturing.
3. Preparation of Raw Materials - The material preparation process involves placing
produce into categories based on specifications or making sure that standards for
the production are met and no other activity are overlooked.
4. Mixing Raw Materials - After the correct raw material volumes have been weighed,
the raw materials are sieved and mixed. By sifting the raw materials through a sieve,
we ensure that the mixture becomes a strong and quality product. The ratio for
mixing raw materials is 1 sack of cement for 4 sack of screened sand and 1 sack
shredded plastic.
5. Moulding – This process involves the prepared and mixed raw materials is placed in
a moulder which forms it into the shape of eco-blocks.
6. Drying – The product is removed from the mould are protected until they are
sufficiently Hardened to permit handling without damage. This may take about 24
hours in a shelter away from sun and winds. Generally, a period of 7 to 15 days of
drying will bring the blocks to the desired degree of dryness to complete their initial
shrinkage. After this the blocks are ready for use in construction work.
7. Handling/storing –
