Steel Frame and Cast Frame Basket Series

After tons of study and review of these drivers and some serious hands on, I started to
reverse engineer their product line and have developed my own version of the drivers
listings.

Here is how I view this product line. MCM has 2 main versions of these speakers /
drivers. Probably coming from the same factory or coordinating factories:

1. Steel Frame Basket Series

2. Cast Frame Basket Series

Each series has a set of industry standard sizes:

● 10”
● 12”
● 15”
● 18”
Note there is a Steel Frame Basket 8” but there is no cast frame 8”
Each speaker size in the series has 2 versions

1. 8 Ohm Version
2. 4 Ohm Version

All of the drivers in both the Steel Frame Basket and Cast Frame Basket Series
basically feature many of the same materials:

● Treated Paper Cones

● Treated Cloth Accordion Surround
● Paper Dust Caps
● Cloth Dampers or “Spider”

Each set has varies in freq response, power handling and have different size voice coils,
magnet sizes etc.

In my opinion most of these drivers I have listed and linked to tend to lend themselves
to the musical instrument and pro sound industry. Although certain drivers in these lines
would work nicely in particular home audio, home theater and auto audio applications.
If you go through and read some of the testimonials and reviews (as always filtering the
idiots) you will get a good idea of what people are using these for.

Website note:
These all seem to be listed a little differently in their descriptions probably because
different people worked on the descriptions at different time when writing the content
and populating the Shopping Cart system. And/or as they added or updated products
not everything was displayed using the same set of design and layout standards. I know
their catalog is so vast and huge that these little details don’t make that much of a
difference except to a person like me.

Most every driver also has it’s Thiele Small Parameters listed as well.
