Salet Kamble SPSS Assignment No 1

1) The document analyzes the relationship between income and brand preference for luxury cars using a cross-tabulation and chi-square test. 2) The null hypothesis is that there is no significant relationship between income and luxury car brand preference, while the alternative hypothesis is that a relationship exists. 3) Based on a chi-square value of 19.000 and a p-value of 0.889 from the Monte Carlo simulation, the null hypothesis is accepted—meaning the analysis found no significant relationship between income level and preference for luxury car brands like Audi, BMW, Mercedes Benz, JLR, Lamborghini, and Lexus.

INTERPRETATION: -

Formulation of Hypothesis

Null Hypothesis ( H 0 ) :- There is no significant relationship between income and brand

preference towards luxury car

Alternate Hypothesis ( H 1 ) :- There is significant relationship between income and brand

preference towards luxury car
Degree of freedom: -

Degree of freedom ¿( r−1)×(c−1)

¿ ( 6−1 ) × ( 6−1 )
Degree of freedom ¿ 25

Conclusion: -
From above output table
Pearson Chi-square value is 19.000
P value found form the output table is 0.889
The level of significance for given test is 5% i. e. 0.05
As per P value decision rule 0.889 > 0.05

Hence, Accept Null Hypothesis (H 0 ) and Reject Alternate Hypothesis (H 1 )

So,
There is no significant relationship between income and brand preference towards luxury car
