Final Project in Great Books

The final project in Great Books is geared with the following objectives:
• Develop an innovative/ creative multimedia output that discusses the impact of a particular
Great Book and:
• Apply relevant, context-based literary approach in criticizing and evaluating the particular text

2.The final project may come in any of the following forms or manner of presentation:

• mini vlog
• documentary video
• an advertisement

utilizing any application/ tool of the student’s choice. The run-time should only from 3-5 minutes
demonstrating the following parts:

• Introduction (In this part, the Great Book will be introduced, include overview of the book, the
background of the author, its genre or the rationale why the book was written, students may add
their personal experience in reading the book for the first time)
• Body (This is the evaluation part. Students can choose any of the literary approaches to evaluate
the text. In this part, the critical questions should be answered as a way to evaluate
the text. Although literary criticism is subjective, the manner of evaluation should be objective by
lifting evidences from the text and citing scholarly works from relevant sources and references)
• Conclusion (In this part, a wrap up of the text should be made, recommendations why or why
not the text should be read can be included as well as the personal sentiments of the reader)

3. In grading the final project, the following criteria will be used:

• Technicalities (aesthetic appeal and production value, innovativeness)- 40%


• Context (content and quality of thoughts, critical evaluation)- 40%
• Impact and Viewership- 20%
