Warm-up: 5min
As a teacher in training, you will
start with a warm greeting. We
2. will then proceed with the
explanation of the "Guess Who"
activity, for which we will form 6
groups using the number technique
(students will pick papers with
different holidays or celebrations
from different objects such as a
Christmas stocking, a hat, and a
Halloween pumpkin. According to
the holiday assigned to them, the
pupils will form groups by
searching for people who have the
same celebration or holiday).
Once the groups are organized, we
will provide relevant vocabulary
regarding the possible characters
that they will be guessing (Santa
Claus, reindeer, witch, candies,
fireworks, grapes). Finally, we will
move on to the actual activity.
Vocabulary presentation: 10min
The teacher trainees will proceed
to explain what an adjective is and
categorize them into positive,
negative, and neutral. Using the
same technique with the objects,
students will then choose 2
adjectives per group to classify
them accordingly.
Then the teacher trainees introduce
different famous celebrations or
holidays(Christmas, Halloween,
New Year’s) by providing a brief
description of these celebrations or
holidays with the participation of
all the groups, using the adjectives
from the previous activity.
Vocabulary development : 10min
The teachers will distribute
worksheets containing the
previously presented vocabulary
(positive adjectives, negative
adjectives, and neutral adjectives)
to all the groups. Then, they will
have to match these worksheets
with the corresponding image of
the celebration or holidays on the
board, group by group. .
Grammar presentation: 10min
The teacher trainees will explain
and provide a structure for
describing the chosen celebration
or holiday.
