Story about MBA Chaiwala

Entrepreneurship is the process of starting a new business, or taking an idea and

making it into a business. It is not just about starting a new company, but also
about creating products, services, or businesses from scratch. Entrepreneurship is a
process that can be both rewarding and risky. The rewards can come in many
forms, such as financial, social, or personal. Entrepreneurship is not just about
starting a new company but rather about the process of taking an idea and making
it into a business.

The Indian entrepreneurial ecosystem has seen a significant growth in

the last few years, with a large number of startups coming up every year. For
example, there were around 8500 startups in India by 2017, which was three times
more than that of 2011. This is a sign that people are becoming more confident
about their skills and abilities to start something new and make it big on their own.

WHO IS THE CHAIWALA WHO EARNED

CRORES?
The cafe which is located in Vastrapur, Ahmedabad was started by an MBA
dropout, Praful. After struggling to get into one of the top business schools of
India, he decided to start his own tea stall. However, it wasn’t easy for him to do
so. Battling a lot of criticism from relatives and society, he finally started running
his own business in 2017 with only Rs 8,000 as an investment. Indians love for tea
knows no bounds and so did Praful's business. Within a year, his sales increased
and he also started selling snacks along with tea. Calling his idea ‘genuine’, Prafull
hopes that people who are genuinely single will turn up for the event and not just
for a free chai. The cafe serves 35 varieties of chai and snacks dishes like Maggi,
bun maska, bread butter, sandwich, French fries and much more. Praful’s journey
has been very interesting and inspirational. He wanted to get admission into some
of the top B-schools of the country but failed. He went on to do an MBA but
dropped out. Soon, he discovered out his love for chai and making people happy so
he opened a cozy but cute little chai store in Vastrapur with just Rs 8000.

Praful named his business as ‘MBA Chaiwala, ‘ which stands for ‘Mr. Billore
Ahmedabad Chaiwala’. Some people mocked at him, saying that even so-
called educated MBA’s are forced to sell tea these days. Many others said that
is this the only profession he could think of despite being educated?
But, Praful did not let any such harsh comments come on his way of setting a
new record.
His courage helped him grow his business to whopping
crores of earning every month. He travels widely across the globe to organise
social events and charity. And look at the irony of life! Now, MBA Chaiwala
is invited to IIM’s and Harvard Business school only to deliver a talk on how
to pursue a passion and become big. It all started with his failure to seek
admission to these very prestigious colleges like IIMS and Harvard.
There are millions out there who are engaged in white-collared corporate jobs
but feel suffocated and stuck in their lives. They might by earning decently
well but are not happy from inside. They do want to break free and start
something of their own but what they lack is courage. We all are driven by the
fear ‘What will people say, if I become a tea seller or a vegetable vendor?
Your passion is your best profession: Tea seller, coffee seller,
sandwich seller, roadside food seller, newspaper seller, every profession is
noble. Just because the society or the people find doctors, engineers, and
lawyers a noble profession, doesn’t mean other professions are any less.
The best time to chase your passion is now: MBA Chaiwala dropped out from
an MBA college as he didn’t see any value addition happening. He walked out
to pursue his passion for selling tea. He immediately set up a tea stall without
bothering about the nature of the job or what would people say if he sells tea.
This goes on to show that if you really want to do something in life, then just
go ahead and do it, without thinking much.
Let your life be defined by your likings and your
beliefs. People remember the success stories and not the struggle behind
becoming a success.
