ATTITUDE:-
Attitude refers to feelings and beliefs of individuals or group of individuals. It is either favorable or
unfavorable statement about object, people, or events.
For example:-
I like my job
I don’t like her attitude.
He is hard working employee etc.
Our behavior at work often depends on how we feel about being there. Therefore, making sense of how
people behave depends on understanding their work attitudes. An attitude refers to our opinions, beliefs, and
feelings about aspect of our environment. We have attitude toward the food we eat, people we interact with,
courses we take, and the various of other things. At work, job satisfaction have the greatest potential
influence how we behave. Job satisfaction refers to the feelings people have toward their job.

1. Cognitive component:-
This aspect of attitude involves belief or knowledge towards people, object and things.
It involve information, facts or ideas which individuals have.
For Example:-
Warm water with lemon is good for health in morning.
Promotion was due you didn’t get it then you believed that you deserved this promotion.
I believed that my immune system can fight corona virus.
My pay is low.

2. Affective Component:-
The aspect of attitude involves emotion or feeling towards people, object or things.
For example:-
I feel angry for people who don’t follow the rules.
I hate my boss for his favouritism in the organization.
I like LED bulbs for longer life.
I am angry over how little I am paid.
a) Behavioral component:-
The aspect of attitude involves action towards people object or things.
Based on the information and emotions, we act towards a person, object or things.
For example:-
I am going to leave my job.
I will replace all bulb at my home with LED.
I am going to look for another job that pays better.
FORMATION OF ATTITUDE
A person’s direct experience with the attitude object determine his attitude towards it. The personal
experience of an individual, weather it is favorable or un favorable, will effect his attitude deeply.
2. Association:-
Sometimes an individual come across a new attitude object which is associated with an other attitude object.
In such a case, the attitude towards the old attitude towards the old attitude may be transferred towards the
new attitude object.
Attitudes like values are acquired from parents, teachers and peer group numbers. In our early years, we
begin modeling our attitudes after those we admire, respect or may be even far. The neighborhood in which
we live has certain cultural facilities, religious groupings ethnic differences.

4. Mass Communication:-
Attitudes are generally less stable as compared to value. Advertising messages for example, attempt to alter
the attitude of the people towards a certain product and services.
The economic status and occupational position of the individual also affect his attitude formation. Our socio-
economic background influences our present and future attitudes..
At work, job satisfaction have the greatest potential influence how we behave. Job satisfaction refers to the
feelings people have toward their job. If the number of studies conducted on job satisfaction is an indicator,
job satisfaction is probably the most important job attitude
1. JOB SATISFACTION:-
Job satisfaction can be defined as the positive feelings and attitude of individual towards their job. Money is
not always the main cause of job satisfaction. Some of these are:-
Engaging them in challenging projects, offering incentives, creating a friendly and respectful environment.
The term describes a positive feeling about the job, resulting from an evaluation of its characteristics.
A person with a high level of job satisfaction hold positive feelings about his or her job, while a
dissatisfied person holds negative feelings.
When people speak of employee attitude, they usually means job satisfaction.
1. Work content: The work must be challenging for the employees. It should be encouraging and
interesting and variety inbuilt in it so that it is not boring. Positive feedbacks from jobs creates a feel of
motivation among employees. While too much challenging jobs make the frustrations among employees.
Hence, work content itself is the major source of satisfaction.
2. Pay and Promotion policy:- Pay and promotion policy must be just, unambiguous and in line with
prevalent industry norms and employee expectations. Employee wages and salary must ensure him
social status and should able to fulfils his expectations. Organisation should ensure that their policies

must be growth oriented and incremental in nature so that employees take on an additional responsibility
voluntary.
3. Supportive working condition: Due to fast technology, organisation has necessary to operate
upgraded technology systems and latest technology and procedures. The layout of the workplace must be
ideally suited to employees so that they feel greater degree satisfaction.
4. Work group: The work group serves a source of support, comfort advice and assistance to
individuals. A good workgroup makes the job enjoyable. A factor of work group support is essential for
the job satisfaction.
5. Supervision: It is one of the moderate factors that affect the job satisfaction. It is related to the
leadership. It means overseeing the employees during work. It helps the employees to complete their
work in time and boost the morale as well as provides motivation to the employees.
6. Personality to fit: It is one of the moderate factors that affect the job satisfaction. It is related to the
leadership. It means overseeing the employees during work. It helps the employees to complete their
work in time and boost the morale as well as provides motivation to the employees.
1. Affective commitment:- This is the emotional attachment an employee has towards the
organization. part of TCM says that an employee has a high level of active commitment, then the
chances of an employee staying with the organization for long are high. Active commitment also means,
an employee is not only happy but also engaged in the organizational activities like, participation in
discussions and meetings, giving valuable inputs or suggestions that will help the organization, proactive
work ethics, etc.
2. Continuance commitment:- This is the level of commitment where an employee would think that
leaving an organization would be costly. When an employee has a continuance in commitment level,
they want to stay in the organization for a longer period of time because they feel they must stay because
they have already invested enough energy and feel attached to the organization – attachment that is both
mental and emotional.
3. Normative commitment:- This is the level of commitment where an employee feels obligated to
stay in the organization, where they feel, staying in the organization is the right thing to do.
1. High employee productivity:- Committed employees are highly productive. They believe in the
organization, its goals, vision, mission, and the leadership team. These employees not only demonstrate
high levels of productivity, but they also ensure their colleagues and team members too display the
same.
2. Reduced absenteeism:- A committed and motivated staff will report much lesser absenteeism than
their peers. Committed employees look forward to going to work, completing their work, helping out
projects, and contributing toward organizational goals.
3. Excellent team players:- Since dedicated employees are heavily invested in the organization, and
it’s success, they are great at collaborating with, and working in teams. They contribute significantly to
boosting the team’s productivity.
