It has become the largest of the world’s religions and, geographically, the most widely diffused

of all faiths.
It has a constituency of more than two billion believers.
Its largest groups are the Roman Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox churches, and
the Protestant churches. The Oriental Orthodox churches constitute one of the oldest branches of
the tradition but had been out of contact with Western Christianity and Eastern Orthodoxy from
the middle of the 5th century until the late 20th century because of a dispute over Christology
the doctrine of Jesus Christ’s nature and significance.
Although born in Bethlehem, according to Matthew and Luke, Jesus was a Galilean
from Nazareth, a village near Sepphoris, one of the two major cities of Galilee (Tiberias was the
other).
His life was lived in close communication with God whom He called abba.
God is so pleased with His son Jesus that He said it out loud; not just for the heavens to hear, but
for the earth and the whole universe to hear; “Thou art my beloved Son; with thee I am well
pleased.” This illustrates his pride in his dearly beloved son.

First he come to the wilderness to think about his role and face the temptation it might bring.
That the will of God should be followed on earth.
In this sermon, Jesus taught his followers the Lord's Prayer and told them several parables. The
sermon also contained the Beatitudes and Jesus' teachings about God's laws, which he expected
his followers to uphold.
If the Lord takes condescending care of wild flowers, will He not care for you?
Solomon was used as a proverb among the Jews; he was the measuring stick, and the glory of
Solomon was the climax of earthly splendor, yet he was not clothed as one of these wild flowers.
If the Lord has clothed little flowers with such majesty, why should we be concerned for our
clothing? Jesus is saying that if His Father has so clothed each flower individually, do we need to
be anxious about our temporal needs?
Are you much better than grass? The Lord sent His only begotten Son to die for us in order to
take away the penalty of our sins and provide Christ's perfect righteousness to clothe us.
The last phrase of verse 30, "O you of little faith," describes the character and conduct of
believers. It does not denote an absence of faith, because He is talking about believers. He is not
speaking of an absence of faith, but of a faith that is weak.
The "kingdom of God" signifies the rule of God; to seek the kingdom of God; to come under His
kingship, to come into subjection to Him as King.

12 disciples, Peter, Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew, James,
Thaddaeus, Simon, Judas.
Passover is the oldest and most important religious festival in Judaism, commemorating God's
deliverance of the Hebrews from slavery in Egypt and His creation of the Israelite people.
The New Testament Passover is a memorial of the suffering and death of Jesus.
Then they preached outside. The apostles on the early followers of Jesus began worshipping
Jesus as the Messiah the Christ meaning the Anointed One. He was seen as the Son of God and
his death a sacrificial act on behalf of humanity.
John 3:16 serves as a thesis statement of their faith: God sacrificed his son, Jesus, for the sins of
humanity, and if you believe in him, your soul will be saved.

As the word spread, notably by St. Paul the movement grew away from Judaism and the
Christian Church was established. This was all written down as the Gospels within the New
Testaments as a continuation of the Hebrew Scriptures to make the Bible.
The faith became the official religion of the Roman Empire in 381 CE and eventually spread
worldwide.
