WP CRC1 SingleDual Setpoint Guide PDF

The document is a guide about single/dual setpoint controls on LG air conditioning systems. It describes the different states the control can display depending on the type of equipment and central controller settings. The control may show that only single setpoint is available, that dual setpoint is available but grayed out, or that either single or dual setpoint can be selected. It provides figures showing examples and a table explaining what each state indicates about the system configuration and current setpoint mode.

CRC1 Single/Dual Setpoint Control Guide

The appearance of the Single/Dual Setpoint control provides key information that can be used to help understand the
current state of the system along with the type of equipment the room controller is attached to. This control may display
in one of several states depending on the type of equipment attached (older Gen2 or newer Gen4 indoor units), whether
the system is under command of a central controller and how the Single/Dual Setpoint (SP) control has been set by the
end-user. The four figures below represent the full complement of SP states that the CRC1 controller might display
depending upon the SP settings of the system.

It should be noted that the Central Controller can either globally restrict or make available Dual Setpoint mode to all
indoor unit (IDUs) but does not have the ability to force IDUs to Dual Setpoint mode. The IDU is the ultimate arbiter of
whether all equipment attached to it is capable of Dual Setpoint operation and hence whether Dual Setpoint is available
as an IDU operation mode.

Figure 1 Figure 2 Figure 3 Figure 4

Table 1 provides a brief explanation which summarizes the current Single/Dual SP mode of the system.

*Note 1: If it has been confirmed that the central controller is configured to be Dual SP capable, DIP switch 3 has been
confirmed to be on at the ODU and IDU supports Dual SP, it may be necessary to perform a Factory Default reset on the
CRC1 controller to regain access to Dual SP mode.

**Note 2: This scenario, while not normally experienced is nonetheless a real possibility, particularly in a situation where
the system has been commissioned as a Dual SP capable system and for some reason the decision is made to revert back
to a Single SP only capable system. In this case, while the Single/Dual SP control will be selectable and will allow the user
to choose Dual SP mode, the IDU will shortly ignore the command and return the control back to Single SP (a transition
from Figure 4 to Figure 3).
