DAY 1
Presentation of the course, the trainers and participants;
Social media and digital competencies: a challenge, an opportunity or a threat for schools?
Presentation of the main tools to be used at school;
Online free platforms useful for schools (e-Twinning, Social Media for the education sector, Edmodo, Twitter, Mind
mapping, Video Editing and sharing, Image creation and editing, Presentation tools, Classroom blogs, Podcasts).
DAY 2
Focus on Social media: great tools for communication and endless opportunities in student-teacher collaboration.
How to create a Facebook Page, a Twitter and Instagram account;
How to create groups and create exchange online;
How to use social media for EU projects;
How to integrate Facebook, Twitter and Instagram in class
DAY 3
Focus on Digital Storytelling and Info graphics: support the telling of stories and your students’ commitment to memory
and abstraction of processes.
How and why storytelling and info graphics can be used in class;
The use of free tools for storytelling (e.g. Capzles, GoAnimate, ACMI or Comic Master);
The use of Canvas for info graphics.
DAY 4
Let’s work and make tips in practice!
Practical session to create a Facebook page or Edmodo account for your school or classroom, info graphics and didactic
material.
DAY 5
Visit to a school participating in a European project or Institutions or Associations active in EU projects and in the
Educational field.
Networking moments to establish new partnerships. Meeting with teachers and students
The objective of the training course is to introduce teachers to conceptualizing and performing digital and social media
enabled learning and teaching in their classrooms. This course is, in fact, designed to help teachers and educators
understand how to incorporate very popular tech trends - social media, blogging, web-based tools - into the classroom.
The course helps teachers understand and learn some basic ideas to fully understand all the uses and benefits that social
media and web-based technology can have in classrooms.
The course offers participants the skills to include digital and social media skills in their daily didactics at school.
The overall objective is to modernize and innovate the methodology of the school staff, to make the schools more
attractive to the students.

The training course provides the participants the necessary skills to:
- Explore new ways to teaching through social media and web tools;
- Provide school education staff with practical ideas on how they can incorporate technology into their existing teaching
programmes;
- Brainstorming and debate on how ICT competencies in education can bring benefits;
- Develop effective web project ideas;
- Familiarize school education staff with using social media during classroom activities;
- Create a more attractive environment for students;
- Enable school education staff to become confident and competent enough to create a collaborative, interactive
classroom experience for their students through the use of the ICT and social media.
