Merged Trust Induction Booklet May 2021 v3 PDF
I am writing to you to wish you the warmest of welcomes into your new role at Doncaster and
Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH).
You are joining Team DBTH during an unprecedented time of rapid change and challenge. However,
it is also a time of great comradery and cohesion, and I am extremely proud of how our Trust has
responded to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Here at DBTH we have such a diverse range of colleagues doing a wide variety of jobs and much to
be proud of. It is our vision ‘to be the safest Trust in England, outstanding in all that we do’ and it is
this ambitious goal that guides our every action and development.
Before the challenges presented by Covid-19, and at the beginning of the year, we were celebrating
a Care Quality Commission (CQC) rating which had moved from ‘Requires Improvement’ to ‘Good’
and registered our best ever Staff Survey results. As an organisation, we have made huge strides
over the past few years, and, once we put this current crisis behind us, I believe we will resume our
upwards trajectory. Like every member of staff, you will play a huge part in this.
Ordinarily, I try to make time to attend every induction to meet new colleagues face-to-face and
welcome individuals personally to Team DBTH. As you will appreciate, due to safety and social
distancing measures, we have had to significantly change how we deliver these sessions and are
now, for the time being, using a virtual platform to undertake these events.
Despite these current challenges, on behalf of the Trust I would like to thank you for choosing to
come and work with us. It is my sincere wish that you find a real sense of belonging within Team
DBTH and I welcome you to our organisation and look forward to meeting you over the coming
weeks and months as we begin a managed and incremental return to business as usual.
As an organisation, we try to be as open and engaging as possible. If you ever wish to speak with me,
please send me an email on rparker7@nhs.net and I would encourage you to join almost 5,000 of
your colleagues on our internal staff Facebook group here:
