Fortinet outperformed VeloCloud (now part of VMware) in an NSS Labs SD-WAN test, scoring higher on quality of experience metrics for voice and video calls with lower latency. Fortinet also had significantly lower 3-year total cost of ownership compared to VeloCloud due to its lower costs per megabit and inclusion of security features. Finally, Fortinet allows for single-pane-of-glass management of SD-WAN, next-generation firewall security, integrated switching and wireless access points from a central console, which VeloCloud does not provide.
