Explanation in FS1 Episode 9
Good day everyone, today I am going to present the episode 9 for the field study so for the episode 9 to
be talking about preparing for teaching and learning. So, for the episode 9 we will be talking about for
preparing for teaching and learning. The life of a teacher is not actually that you sees it, not also that
difficult, nu? But it is challenging. The life of the teacher is also do not only start when you enter the
classroom or ends when you get out inside the classroom. The life of the teacher is continuous preparing
for teaching and preparing for the learning of the students is actually really difficult.
Number 1 (read) it is important that you as a teacher establish what you want hear or what you want
to learn or what you want your students to learn at the very beginning, but you must know that first as
teacher and then rely that to your learners once you start the instructions. Okay, because that’s what
you expect from them that you will be the one accessing at the end of the instructions.
Number 2 (read) this is a phrase that we usually remember when we hear about learning is an active
process. It is an active process where in, you can actually learn more when you actually do things or to
apply what you have learned. Example if you are dealing with mathematics, continuous practice of
calculations would really help the students rather than allowing them to memorize the formula itself.
Allowing them to remember the memorize then apply it in several calculations that will really2 help your
students. Remember in understand the importance of your equations.
Number 3 (read) now it is important that learners understand the meaning of what they are learning.
Discovery learning is actually one of the principles of education that has been rising in 20st century but
actually existed ever since. this is where Aristotle uhhm in other natural philosophers and as well as
scientist dealt with, they actually learn more when they discover. You give more value to the knowledge
that you were actually able to unravel. Mas halongan mo ang knowledge/ natun.an nga nadiscover mo
na ikaw kaysa sa knowledge nga gin hatag lang sa imo. Okay, especially the students are given the
opportunity to relate this to other field of knowledge or other concepts as well and more importantly
is that they can apply this to their day to day lives.
And then lastly Number 4( read ) now before the 21 st century uhhm cooperative and collaborative
learning did not actually exist much in the education 1.0 2.0 learners actually train to study by
themselves and then become work force. Like They trained to work , but now our education 2.0 it as
students are trained to create their own jobs, it has be cooperative and collaborative. Now its not the
era of competition when it comes to education instead its a cooperation and collaboration bacuase
when you go out side the field. Example your students are engineer’s definitely they will the time that
they had to create a firm with fellow engineer as well that’s why cooperative and collaborative
learning is very important to be establish inside the classroom. And that also where start companies
start right? That why also very important to establish cooperative and collabotive learning inside the
classroom that’s why we have groupings we have brainstorming we have session with their students
for them to have cooperation and collaboration, because after all uhh in surviving the industry in many
industries today you really have to cooperate and collaborate and the longer or set aside the
competition whether it be by race or whether it be by gender competitions when it comes to ,
kailangan na isantabi ito because now is the era of cooperative and collaborative learning.
Now in preparing for teaching and learning number that you should always remember review your
objective writing.
Direct is called teacher centered approach this is applied previously in the 20 th century where in the
teacher is a soul source of knowledge where is the teacher is a center and the teachers controls the
classroom and the teacher transmit the information direct to the students or direct to the learner. It is
sometimes called spoon of feeding. Okay. Now uhhmm direct teaching has been used can still be used
up to date depending of the nature of the subject ofcourse, now when you are teaching in indi ka
pwede ahh it is not encourage for you to use different approach that is not relevant to your subject
matter it is important to always consider your subject matters naituturo mo at sa principles mo din na
as a teacher , the strategy mo here usually you can use deductive, you can also use demonstrative you
can also do demo or you can also do lecture method, the important topics that before sabi kasi nila
now is the time of the direct teaching , but actually no, their knowledge are centain topics in here up to
21st century na kailangan mo pa rin ng direct method or approach, na kailangan sa teacher centered ,
ang teacher ang mahtag sang inpormation. So really cannot put the entired gravity of the topic to the
student you still have a rule as teacher but this is again dependent to the subject matter that you
teaching and also dependent on the topic. But this is widely use before pero ngayon medyo bawas na
siya kase we are all
