1) Aldehydes can undergo oxidation reactions using reagents like potassium permanganate, potassium dichromate, or Fehling's solution to form carboxylic acids. 2) They can also undergo addition reactions, such as with hydrocyanic acid to form cyanohydrins, or with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine to form orange precipitates. 3) Aldehydes can be reduced to primary alcohols using sodium borohydride or lithium aluminum hydride.
