BOP Function Test

Responsibility: IM , DIC , TP , Driller

Equipment: BOP and BOP Operating Unit

Input Document: Work over Plan

Out Put Document: TBT, Daily Progressive Report and BOP Function test check list

Process:

1. N/U BOP on well head


2. Line up BOP with the operating unit
3. Start the electrical pump and charge the BOP operating unit
4. Operate the BOP operating unit and close the BOP ram. Note the closing time
5. Operate the BOP operating unit and open the BOP ram. Note the opening time
6. Fill the BOP function test check list and Signed by IM , DIC , TP , Driller.

Safety Consideration:

1. Pressure gauge should be calibrated and calibration certificate should be available on site
2. Only authorized person will perform the job and sign the check list
3. Electrical connection of BOP operating unit should be in good condition
4. Condition of hydraulic hose should be ok
5. Closing and opening time for the ram should be as per OISD RP-174

4. BOP – Blow Out Preventer
5. N/U – Nipple Up
