WHY SEX EDUCATION IS RELEVANT

Sex education helps people gain the information and skills they need to make the best
decisions for themselves about sex and relationships. Planned Parenthood is the
nation’s largest provider of sex education. Whenever we hear adults or teenagers the
same age as us talking about sexual intercourse we, teenagers, usually find this
uncomfortable and weird. It is only because we grew up thinking that sexual
intercourse is irrelevant and disgusting though we were never taught exactly why it
is actually relevant and informative to people like us.

As other teenagers grow up, they face important decisions about relationships,
sexuality, and sexual behavior.  The decisions that this generation’s youth makes
may and can impact their lives and well-being especially their mental health for the
rest of their lives.  Though they have the right to lead healthy lives, and society
has the responsibility to prepare youth by providing them with comprehensive sexual
health education that gives them the tools they need to make healthy decisions. But
it is not enough for programs to include discussions of abstinence and contraception
to help young people avoid unintended pregnancy or disease. Comprehensive sexual
health education must do more.Sexual health education important to young people’s
health and well-being to avoid negative health consiquences and to understand,
value, and make the right decisions for their body and their future. In this
generation, teenage pregnancy is common among every year, an estimated 21 million
girls aged 15–19 years in developing regions become pregnant , sex education includes
teaching children about planned parenthood. It teaches teenagers that sex without
after plans will only drag them down in life , it is also the reason poverty isn’t
easily solved for most families only think about the pleasure they feel instead of
the outcome of their actions.Research has repeatedly found that sex education which
provides accurate, complete, and developmentally appropriate information on human
sexuality, including risk-reduction strategies and contraception helps young people
take steps to protect their health, including delaying sex, using condoms or
contraception, and being monogamous.
